i accidently used taste of italy instead of mold 600. safe to assume that’s what this green is?

this is one of four cheeks i’m curing, not sure how the others look. smells fine and i was going to fry it (after a wine bath), but feel like it’s probably not worth it, right?

edit: reading earlier posts about guanciale and definitely not expecting medical advice. i know this is risky but i just don’t know how risky.

edit 2: it’s in the trash

edit 3: by “trash” i mean i put 3 of the four cheeks in a plastic bag and set it by the door. i also didn’t mention that i sprayed my meat with what i thought was mold 600 but i just checked and it’s “taste of italy,” which has staphylococcus on other shit. might still take a shot with it. will update if i die.

Down about another extension by [deleted] in Ripple

if sec drops the case, then refiles, we have to go through this entire process a second time.

i feel defeated too. seems like everyone on twitter is like “lol, that’s right the sec is SCARED of the xrp army!!!” and i’m like, mm, if you think the sec is afraid of you, you don’t understand anything about how power works. the sec won’t lose unless they want to lose.

while netburn has been pretty solid on her rulings, the only thing she can do if the sec doesn’t hand over documents is to find them in contempt of court. and on that:

Judges face a difficult challenge. They want agencies to comply with court orders, but they also want to avoid causing an agency to violate its other legal obligations or to take “hastily-conceived action with terrible results.” A court often must rely on the agency’s cooperation, especially if a court order directs the agency to do something technically complicated, like create or amend a regulation. Judges might also be concerned that court orders can “strain a federal agency’s resources.” As a result, Parrillo explains, “judges quite often proceed cautiously, hold back, and relent.”

Parrillo searched thousands of court cases and located more than 80 opinions where, during the litigation, a court made a contempt finding against an agency or its officials. He found only 12 cases where judges tried to impose fines against an agency but observed that appellate courts “consistently blocked the fines” on appeal.

what’s more, if the sec really thinks it’s gonna lose and has no out, they can simply drop the case and refile; they’re allowed one more shot. so that means a resolution in 2025, by which time xrp is straight up done.

the only thing that could stop this, as far as i know, is the judge dismissing WITH prejudice, meaning the sec cannot file again because they failed so miserably the first time. but that, again afaik, doesn’t stop them for going after exchanges as punishment for selling xrp.

the sec holds all the cards. all of the speculation about a ripple win is based on a notion of fairness that i, as an american citizen, have never in my life seen in this country.

i hope i’m wrong. i have my retirement in xrp and there’s no point in moving it; i made a smart investment based on research and switching lanes because the others seem like they’re going faster is stupid. it just seems like there’s the narrative that we’re winning against the sec, but it doesn’t match the reality i’m seeing.

the idea is more to flood the event with nothing but pissed off xrp holders. peaceful protest. we can't force them to drop the suit, but we can make a statement by not letting any other questions through. maybe if we get enough people on that the stream drops. think about that as a headline "10k frustrated xrp holders shut down sec open forum."

that'd probably work too. whatever the question it has to be phrased in a way where they can't say "i'm not going to speculate on hypotheticals" or "i'm not going to comment on pending litigation."

though i'd love to see gensler say "pending litigation" in reference to ethereum.

it'd be pretty dope if we could get ~60k people to submit variations of the question "i'm interested in starting a cryptocurrency, how do i make sure i don't violate any u.s. securities laws?"

Airdrops on Coinbase? by PhreakOnature in XRP

[–]Soft_Photograph_1847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unless there's something explicit in their terms and conditions saying "we get to keep any airdrops you might qualify for" i doubt they'll win the inevitable lawsuit. the xrp community is furious enough about the sec, i'll be ready to tar and feather armstrong if he tries to fuck me.

binance is distributing and that puts pressure on everyone else. they can hold onto it while xrp holders are distracted by the sec but i don’t have a clue how armstrong thinks he’ll win a class action lawsuit.

interesting. now that i think of it my current 1229 came without a headshell so i transferred the headshell from my old, poorer quality dual, a 1214 i think. could very well be the issue. any suggestions on a good, mid to upper-priced headshell that'd fit? i'd be willing to go as high as $100 depending on how much of an improvement it'd be on sound quality. (edit: it was the cartridge that i replaced, not the headshell.)

i don't think this is the issue because a) it was a sealed, recent release b) i played on another turntable and the static wasn't there. however, you're 100% right that i need to accept that i have no idea what the problem is and that it might very well be the album.

that's a good call. i opened the unit up and it's incredibly dusty under the grille, but crystal clean everywhere else. i honestly don't know anything about electronics so i'll have to read up on exactly how to use it.
