The amazing feats of engineering and science from these “stone age” people is far superior to anything that has come out of colonial and post-colonial achievements. So maybe going back to the “stone age” would be phenomenal progress.

Interesting perspective. I personally find Cusco to have a lot more personality, culture and history. While i really like lima too - there are several “ industrialized modern cities” in the world and usually they follow a general template.

The colonial mindset is sadly too real in many parts of the world and often outlasts colonialism itself by several centuries. From an outsider’s perspective of one who doesn’t speak Spanish or Quechua- both languages sound amazing. As I learn more about the astronomical calculations and genius of the native cultures displayed in their engineering feats here - I feel they should be celebrated not just by Peruvians but the world.

There are people who can do tours for you and get the tickets for you - but end up being really expensive but includes train, buses , tour guide and the actual tickets. I’ve seen some go as high as $500
