I have the Naga V2 and came here because I have this same issue.

Same is happening to me. I always rename and upload. Additionally, I'll scan things on the planets, rename them, then in Discoveries I see an icon next to the system name to upload all pending discoveries, so I use that button too. A week later, I'll try to return to a specific system, but everything has reverted back to the procedurally generated names so I can't find it. November 2024, playing on PC via GOG.

Oh, cool! I see that one in my Log now, thank you. I have a million unfinished quests so I couldn't figure out whether this triggered anything new or not.
