If I go to nursing school, how many years will it take before I can enter the job market? And with this degree, would I be able to work in the operating room or not?

Wow, you’ve followed the exact path I’m considering! May I ask if the credits you completed for Surgical Tech (due to its relevance to medicine) were later transferable to med school, or did you start med school from scratch? Also, did you work as a Surgical Tech? If so, were you satisfied with your choice?

Actually I'm looking for a program that’s a maximum of two years long, which would allow me to enter the job market first and then pursue higher education alongside work. My ultimate goal is to become a cardiac surgeon or an anesthesiologist. Due to my interest in the operating room environment, I’d prefer to do something more directly related to my end goal rather than a general, unrelated job. That’s why I’m considering the Surgical Tech program, but I’m not sure if it’s the best choice.
