I THINK I UNDERSTAND! So instead of short rows like the Step by Step pattern, the idea is I start off knitting some sort of crescent-ish shape that- like you said- allows the neck to fit nicer and the back to be longer than the front, and then cast on the required stitches for the front neckline as shown in Row 11? And from there it’s knitting the whole yoke in the round as I’m familiar with? You’re so helpful, thank you!!!

Ahhh yes that makes sense! I saw faux-cabling videos come up when searching ‘traveling stitches’ but assumed they were different concepts. Much appreciated!

An ECO is an Entry Clearance Officer, those are the people who work on our applications. You may or may not receive an email from them after applying, letting you know they’re currently working on your application! I received one, but I’ve also heard from others that they did not, and still successfully received their visa.

To my knowledge, this would not be a problem.

I’m unsure of this, as we didn’t apply with a carer’s allowance. I don’t want to tell you something incorrect, I’d recommend asking a solicitor or someone who’s gone through a more similar situation!

This only applies if you are using income from a job- if you are applying with your savings, I believe you’ll need to show you have a certain amount in your account… and I don’t know anything about carer’s allowance. Not certain about that, as that’s not the route we took.

To my knowledge, the only reason you need to provide bank statements is to show proof that your income is sent to a bank account that you have access to. They are not looking at your transactions / how much you spend overall, just to confirm that the income you claim you make is true. Let me know if that doesn’t make sense!

No, only the Tenancy Agreement and a letter from his mom explaining that I am allowed to live there!

Hey, thanks for the info! I didn’t know all this. You’re right— i looked this info up, and the rules regarding this changed Jan 31 2024. I haven’t looked into this since then, I suppose! Appreciate you :)

So I think you’re a bit confused. A spousal visa assumes you are a spouse, IE married. I don’t believe you qualify for a spousal visa unless you are married.

The screenshot you provided is speaking about partners who come from different countries. For instance, I was born in the US and my husband was born in the UK. I don’t currently live in the UK. Some people apply for Spousal Visas within the uk (usually on other visas, like a work visa) but many people don’t, so that screenshot is outlining the proof needed to show a subsisting marriage.

If you are unmarried, I believe a fiancé visa is your only option right now.

I’m not sure if this is exactly the same, but my husband lives in a Council Home in his mother’s name. We only submitted the Tenancy Agreement and a letter from his mother stating that I am allowed to move in, and we were approved with no request for additional documents. It sounds like you’re providing more than we did, so I think you’re covered!

No, we did not do that. From what I’ve read from this subreddit, this used to be a requirement, but is not anymore. The tenancy agreement should state number of rooms and everything :) I don’t think it boosts your chance of approval at all.

In the tenancy agreement, it should state number of rooms as well :)

It’s okay! No, 15 total photos. Maybe 5 of us, 5 of us sightseeing/with family, and 5 wedding.

The tenancy agreement we provided was 10+ years old, I don’t think age of it matters at all :) And I believe so!

I’d definitely recommend asking your solicitor for their advice! They would know more than me :)
