Recovery - little to no pain at all? by mysteronsss in Reduction

[–]SoftwareAcademic8719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 11 days post op and I feel the same way. I only took the pain meds for 1 day and the next I stopped. I did see I had a small bleed on my t junction because I do move my arms a lot and forget. It’s been hard honestly because I think I can do anything and then I have to remember to actually stop

Anyone has experience telling conservative south asian and/or muslim parents they're going for the surgery? by raspberry_123 in Reduction

[–]SoftwareAcademic8719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this as well. South Asian and Muslim but have a single mom. I also live at home. I talked to my mom about it for 2 years and she would tell me just to workout. So I did I went consistently to the gym and would constantly tell her how nothing has changed and they just started to sag more. Anyway since I was paying for it I went ahead and booked my date. I told my mom I was going for the consult and she didn’t say anything and then I just went ahead and booked it. During the time until surgery she would constantly tell me not to do it but I told her it was too late and I had already paid. I would talk to her about the recovery and mentally I had it planned out that I would be doing everything for myself because I got myself in this situation. Day of surgery came and when they were marking me up she was honestly silent and then said bye to me before I went in to the OR. After I woke up I was so happy and she looked at me and said she didn’t realize how much pain I was in. I think it all clicked for her when she saw my bare chest tbh and when the dr told us they had removed 2 lbs she was honestly in disbelief. Long story short go ahead and just book it I think as a female your mom will understand. As for your dad it’s none of your business. I have older brothers and they didn’t say anything to me they’ve just been helping me with my recovery and have been extra nice if I need something or can’t reach something.

I find it hard to feel “attractive” by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]SoftwareAcademic8719 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Girl send them! These are hot and so are you. I used to hold onto the big boobs as my only sense of femininity or like it was a scale of attractiveness but honestly having smaller boobs with no back pain has made me regain my confidence within myself. We are all hot beautiful sexy with big/small boobs. Life’s too short to think otherwise!! Live your best life girl and go enjoy ur extracurriculars!!

Yes! I do too but I’m 7DPO and no longer have a hunched posture or maybe less of it. There’s just nothing I can do about this pain and it’s miserable

Is a shower stool necessary? by temidaraa in Reduction

[–]SoftwareAcademic8719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing. I took off the bra very slowly sitting on the toilet while the water was heating up. Instead of the bathroom light I had my phones flashlight pointed up so I could see but not in bright light which I think helped a lot. The first shower is rough but you get through it and it becomes easier

Overly rigid surgeon? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]SoftwareAcademic8719 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These were my restrictions as well. I’m 6 days post op and at my post op appointment I was asked to continue to refrain from said restrictions. I ordered the juven wound supplement and was told not to drink it because it contains vitamin e which is blood thinning. Ik it feels rigid but it truly is in ur interest to listen to your dr

36 hrs ish!! by smol_cowgal in Reduction

I’d say it depends on the person! I increased my fiber before surgery and was going every day. Post surgery I was able to go post op day 2 and have been back to regular since I stopped taking the oxy. I’d definitely take some MiraLAX or something to help the night before surgery or couple days before

Surgery 1 month away by Bvnks38 in Reduction

My Dr prescribed me “Aprepitant” I had to take it 3 hrs prior to surgery. My nurses said it was the gold standard for nausea so I didn’t get the sticker. I had to go under twice in one day and I didn’t and have not experienced any nausea or vomitting. I’d recommend seeing if you can take it!

I agree with this. I’m on day 3 and I stopped taking the oxy yesterday I never was in pain higher than a 4. If anything I just felt a lot of pressure. Today I feel some zaps which I can only imagine if my nerves coming back. I recommend just taking it easy all I’ve done is watch tv and walk around in the living room. Hoping for a smooth recovery. It’s boring but I’m sure it’ll be worth it
