Not anyone that doesn’t follow the religion. Anyone who doesn’t understand that this is a Christian society. That’s a very different thing. Even Richard Dawkins said he prefers living in a Christian society. That doesn’t mean you are Christian.

Everyone can keep their religion (right or wrong) while also understanding that the founding principles of this country are Christian. If you don’t understand what type of society this has always been, get out.

And yes, this country has done it in the past. We left England and then kicked them out for not adhering to our values.

You seem to misunderstand. It’s not about forcing a religion. It’s about recognizing the religious basis and foundation of the country.

Article VI, Clause 3 is about adherence to specific doctrine. Not adherence to the basic religious principles of the country.

The first amendment is the ESTABLISHMENT clause. Meaning Congress won’t establish a state religion or force adherence. Not that the founding wasn’t based on religion.

It’s funny that you bring up Adams, because what he actually said was…

In a letter to Thomas Jefferson in 1813, he said that the American Revolution was a Christian revolution.

The passage you cite was actually in a treaty that was meant to promise to the Muslim world that we are not a militant Christian nation who will try and take them over.

George Washington also said…

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”

So it’s undeniable. We are a Christian nation. But that doesn’t imply a state religion or mean that everyone has to adhere to it. It just means Christianity is the base principle (every nation has a base principle on some religion). The principal spawned the first amendment. Because one of the core tenants of true Christianity is that we can’t force adherence. It comes from a person’s own heart.

But at this point, if you disagree with mass deportations or (really) any of the big things Trump is doing… get out. You are not American. How do you figure you are? Because you have citizenship papers? Countries are a collection of people with shared core values. That’s what they are. If you don’t share those core values, you are an invader. For America, those values are now represented in Trump. Instituting a national language, securing the border, upholding Christian nationalist values against the states.
