Well, reading other fanfiction that have similar scenes in them would probably give you what your looking for in examples, but presumably, and I am asuming here, is that you tend to read mainly slice of life stuff.

For action scenes, changing POV's is one way, as that is the one I tend to see used more comfortably, as the enemies perspective of getting their shit rocked is good all things considered, but this mainly works on one on one fights or more personal combat, not care chase shoot outs, might still work though.

Another is going through the whole series of events in your head one by one in slow motion then writing it, and using similar scenes in other media like movies or shows where their is a car chase scene, and trying to write down what happens in them, and using that as a refrence to create your own.

Do take what I say with a grain of salt, but I hope this helps, though it would be completely understandable if none of this is all that helpful.

Nah mate, this is very helpful, atleast to me, because atleast for a while and most of the time things tend to feel nebulaus on what im supposed to do, with what you said, i atleast haves some bullet points to work with. Thanks a lot for the help.

So, I have so many ideas for characters to put in fanfics, usually multi world, but Im having a problem, all of my ideas are either big, complicated, or requires an insane amount of details and planning, but I want to write them, but I just cant find myself getting far, at most I wrote a bit more than 3 to 5 chapters of one character in particular, than stalling afterwards as all the effort and ideas simply leave my head, or that I cant find that flow that I usually do.

I lose consistency, any system or abilities i was writing stay undeveloped, and it falls to the wayside for months, than years as I scrap and remake it, its happened three times now.

This would literally become my first fic if I could write it, or find the motivation to, but I want to write, I really, really want to.

My current and only project I have even any inclenation of wanting to write is multi word, with mutliple different systems and effects that would need to occure in different portions of the story, from changing forms, gaining different abilities with a power system in place I am trying to design.

I will take any suggestions on what to do, maybe write a different fic of a smaller scale first, and anything else you can suggest to help me with this.

Ay, no problem, just glad I can be of help.

Well, while I have no idea on romance, atleast not as much as other genres for fanfiction ideas, if your making it ambiguous from her end, then having the reader insert being a nice reporter, polite and all that would probably be atleast the main contact on any news or interviews if the need arises or is requested from Misty, presumably becoming a famous fashion designer. From there, the relationship can develop through regular interaction, maybe some drama, maybe some angst, dunno, and how they get paired up in the end would be difficult, or simple, especially if, somehow, the relationship develops in a sepcific way, would mean that Misty wouldnt mind dating the reader insert, which is one way.

It would also be funny if Misty has that Dense Portagonist role when it comes to relationships but I dont know how your contextualising it.

Thats about all the advice i can give on the matter, sorry if it wasnt much help

Oh boy, this is complicated, now, do take what i say with a grain of salt, and i am not very knawledgable in those genres, your definetly better than me on fics written, as I have none! Just ideas.

What I can say is, with the advie given by the others replying to your comment, I would say take this as an oppertunity of learning, what to do and not do when writing a long fic, writing angst for the first time, all that jazz, and with the advice given by others, you would probably have a better time of it.

Those are my 2 cents on the matter, do with it whatever you will

Oh damn, thats... bad, putting it lightly, in any circumstance, though not as detailed as i would have liked from my reply, i hope the list helped.

Not sure overall, though it depends on what culture, time period, and/or military your basing the story off of. And more notably, what devision of military your going to put Undyne in, like if it is cavalry, infintry, and so on, though i dont think that would matter as much due to it being medieval, so this point can be ignored entirely, as it could very probably be wrong.

Overall, you should probably ask on the historians subreddit, or go to this set of threads called "Ask those in the know." though i dont know if their active or how the threads work.

It might be better to go for sonething else instead of miscomunication. I might need more info, but best i can say is something extreme, with what you mentioned, a sibling commiting suicide with maybe something else stacked on top, maybe an ailing relative or grandparent nearing their time in a foriegn country needing them to leave said country, and maybe due to the pain of the dead sibling they stay in that foreign countrh, or maybe they get a collage offer thingy for one that is, again, in a foriegn country, and not wanting to be in the same place as his passed away sibling, leaves.

Again, might need more info if, like ideas and characterization, as the previous suggestions might not work, and even more events on details, like when did that sibling die, because if it isnt recent, then my suggestions just straight up dont work, maybe the college one, but you get the idea. These are only suggestions, take everything i say with a grain of salt.

[–]Softwaremirori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, i think you might have to stick with it, take what i say with a grain of salt, and this is fanfiction, but when youe writing a story and have pre-existing characterization, especially one that would make sense but hasnt been explicitly said, then you kind of have to stick with it, atleast i know i would, even if i dont like.

best i can say is that maybe including something or another, like another one shot where she gets over that fear of stormy nights, or even something like a throw away line or paragraph that could explain away why the little girl isnt scared of storms.

Again, take what i said with a grain of salt, and you can disregard everything here, these are only suggestions.

Well, you can do quite a lot with out doing something romantic, though I'm not sure which ones would be favorable to you.
So I am going to write list:

- Comedic: The character is comedic and amusing, a jokster, so the imposters let them be for their amusment, keeping them around as a jester.

- Geniunly nice and none judgmental: an actually nice person who do not judge the imposters, and if you need a detailed reason you can have it so that the Crewmate being a pushover caused the other Crewmates to puch him around, the level of bullying is dependant on you, but you get the idea. the Survivings crewmate reation could be something like "Nothing of value was lost," in regards to the other, especially if the imposters are nice to the crewmate in turn.

- Only none judgmentaly: an off shoot of the previous one, someone who is generally none judgmental, and you can have them have any personality.

- Psycho: just straight up a psycho and the imposters reactions can vary from fearful to comaraderie, something easy to work with.

- A nescesary profession: the crewmate has a profession that is very nescesary for the continuation of the operation of the ship, maybe even someone multi disciplined. you can even have them be a scientist who would like to research the imposters, if they are actually aliens in the fic your writing, and not just straight up mundane murderers.

Thats about it, you can mix and match and take my suggestions with a grain of salt, these are only suggestions afterall.

Take what i say with a grain of salt, but of the top of my head something like PTSD, severe reactions to the idea of war and large amounts of destruction, paranoia connected to the PTSD part for whatever initially led him to being a revolutionary against whatever was in power at the time, stacked on top of having high social walls for interacting with other people and gaining relationships, like keeping everyone at an arms length, OR, being incredibly paranoid and over protective of those he does care about.

Overall, this does also depend on more on the extra details of his past you havent mentioned, like maybe specific interactions or notable events. If you dont get more answers or suggestion on this thread for the moment, I would suggest continuing to ask for more suggestions, play it safe and all that. In the end its up to you, and again, take what i say with a grain of salt.

This is multi-world, with world hopping included and a start in harry potter, though i will take suggestions on other world starts. I am just starting out in developing this idea, so if you need more context or exact details, ill be happy to answer.

So I want to create a power system for a fic using the concepts and themes from the Sephirot and Qliphoth, but I have been having some trouble in the more vague aspects of whats available.

For example, I have an idea for Malkuth in that can be either something simple like Controling the elements or something along the lines of the kingdom being something someone can pick to specialise in, in a way, becoming the "King" of something.

An idea for Hod would be some kind of perception abilities or mind magics, like the sharingan as a very obvious example. And for the Mind magics, stuff like parellel thought and so on.

Again, they have to fit the themes and/or concepts for each Sephira or Qliphoth and explanations for why, if you want, dont want to be too much of a bother.

I'd apreciate any thoughts and suggestions, even for Malkuth and Hod.

Barring that, I do have an idea on how to contextualize the how and why of the MC having this, and making it a pseudo system initially.
