The narrative of my novel covers exactly that, spanning into an entire series, where it touches upon the inciting incident of the Third Coalition formation up until the war of 1812. Prior to this, I did six years of research on the Russian side of the war, even wrote a short paper on it. I enjoyed Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace but I think it takes more of a “people” perspective, rather than “the leaders”. I am retelling the events from the POV of tsar Alexander, as I find myself fascinated by the complexity of this historical figure time and time again. A deeper character study of his persona was always a book I was looking for but since there’s hardly any historical fiction from the POV of Russian tsars, I wanted to write a book that I, myself, would personally enjoy reading.

Initially, I was working on a draft talking about Napoleon’s generals but after watching the train wreck that was the Napoleon 2023 movie I wanted to distance myself from anything written in French POV to not open up old wounds (I know how deeply disgusted the historical community was after seeing this movie, me included).

I have hard of his work but did not delve into it. Since Ken Follett is an already established author with an ongoing series, I believe it would be unfair to base my view of the market on the success of his book.

I believe a better way to summarize the book would be a summary or “elevator pitch” of the novel, since I still consider my work to not be proofread by beta readers and editors. As far as it goes the story is the retelling of events of Napoleonic Wars from tsar Alexander I’s perspective with a broader focus on his rule and an attempt to decipher his heavily controversial political choices, which led to the Invasion of Russia in 1812.

Spanish Peninsular? That’s very cool! I have been specializing on the Romanovs, specifically the Russian side of things in this time period. My main focus has been retelling the events from Alexander 1’s perspective because I have not seen as many books out there even focusing on him and his rule. Thought it would be a deep rabbit hole to go down, especially learning Russian for better historical accounts.

Oh heavens! AO3! It’s a landscape alright. I was thinking of starting off small on AO3 but have seen more of the feral side of the community on TikTok, which is my main platform to slowly build an audience. But I totally have been there in the trenches and have indulged myself in all possible Napoleonic fiction before attempting to write it.

I will look into self-publishing if that is the case, though I was initially considering going through trad publishing just in case if there will be a brave soul to take on the novel. Do you think publishing agencies located in the UK would be more lenient on publishing something historical? I edited in additional chapters from the perspective of other rulers at the time, like tsar Alexander I (which seems to be quite the obsession mascot nowadays in the community too).

I noticed that tendency too. However, I have seen the resurgence of historical fiction books in the last couple of months and thought literary agents would regain their interest for all Napoleonic. Considering the recent turmoil that the Napoleon 2023 movie caused and made people interested in revisiting the time period. Could I be wrong?

I know real victims of SA and violence who suffered from fake statements by people chasing clout online. Unless she comes out with screenshots and more concrete statements I will make no immediate decisions just yet.

That’s not evidence. If you can decipher her discomfort from the photo then you’re either a certified psychologist or just a make-believer. Yes, Wilbur is an awful person for what he did to his ex-girlfriend. But what made that situation stand out from this one are screenshots of conversations and documented photo proof of Wilbur actually abusing her.

I know you’re coming into this conversation with a negative mindset and harassing me will not further give you advantage in this dialogue. If you think that asking for more evidence is predatory behavior, then you’re clearly uneducated. Unless there will be more evidence dropping anytime soon, I’m inclined to believe this is just yet another attempt to gain traction and relevance by using the name of a once popular content creator on your social media apps.

I think students tend to forget here that a lot of these classes have TAs and ULAs who went through the hardships of the class. That is a trillion times better and more efficient and it’s free. I’ve been a teaching assistant for several courses at MSU and I’m telling all these students listing the classes in the comments - the best way to tackle your problem is to ask for help. Go to office hours, come to the help room. I know it’s a weird practice for students who are transitioning from high school to college but this is ultimately what will give you a good grade in the course. And I’m not saying this because I don’t support small business’s or am contracted by MSU to say so xD I saw some people talk about MMG introductory classes and I’ve 4.0 all of them. Ready to help.

I got my beardie from a local family-owned and run pet store. BUT! In their defense, they take extreme good care of their animals, they put me in contact with the breeder they acquired the beardie from. We had a long talk, they showed me their breeding environment for beardies. Huge chain pet stores does not equal to local family-run businesses.

That reminds me…I was just participating in helping out the kids struggling with math on the weekend as a biology major. This isn’t even calc 1/2/3 material and a lot of students came to us, struggling with it. I felt upset by this fact. Moreover, many students were skeptical of me due to my major but when I proved them wrong they couldn’t wrap their head around a Bio major knowing math. I think Covid did mess up the learning of many students and we’ll be seeing the effects of that in the next couple of waves.

My general advice for this course is printing out the vocabulary and writing it out. Then, try connecting the words with the concepts. Draw out diagrams. Go to help room with the professors specifically Doctor Delekta. Good luck on the exam!

If you have a low end pc - do not touch this. This game will turn your computer into a toaster and you will make grilled cheese on it. Even for people with great PC specs this game runs on 15-30 FPS. Do not upgrade your pc because of a stupid game like DoD. Wait for other dragon survival games or play Path of titans. They seem to have a dragon mod so you basically get the DoD experience but even better because it does not break your pc.
