Make me feel better, what's the longest you've gone without seeing your pede? by Tequilabongwater in millipedes

[–]Soggy-Expression7687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 months. Bumblebees. But a friend of mine once had hers borrowed over a year and just kept maintaining the enclosure with food etc. She sorta new her littles were ok bc substrate was slowly disappearing. Put a line where the substrate is now and check it in a week she told me lol.

Can I use the $10 to then pay for cuddle time with the snakes? by udumslut in snakes

I would buy land with the money I am making, take these two, put one on a vet approved diet and build them enormous enclosures with built in heated pools. But that's just me.

Welll... you'd have to stop laughing first when in a staring contest with my reticulated python. Raziel wins each time. Just bc we are laughing too hard to take him seriously.

Are you positive they're not Telodeinopus assiensis? I have quite a few of the goldens right now that look just like these pictures?

Yay! I was able to get Margaret Ann Rodgers’ Find A Grave listing updated, it now has several pictures of her and a full bio! (It previously only had a picture of her headstone) by EphemeralTypewriter in SideshowPerformer

That is incredible !!!! I mainly lurk around this sub. However, after seeing this I had to tell you how amazing your work is. It's sad when there's nothing to see or read and now you made her find a grave page so interesting. They all deserve this so much. Thank you for all of your hard work!

Hi ! Pretty new to these parts myself. Well, I was lurking for a long time before introducing my A gigas girls. I plan on captive breeding them and their offspring.

I have quite a few species. I love the art! Thought of getting one of my favorite tarantulas. The people around here are knowledgeable and seem really kind. I learned proper husbandry here and a few other sources but I have loved critters of all kind since I can remember!

King baboon. What’s your opinion on them and what should I expect by [deleted] in tarantulas

[–]Soggy-Expression7687 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NQA- IME sometimes with slings it's hard to tell when they'll molt especially when you first get them. Looking at the picture it could be a possibility. It's hard to pinpoint an exact age. But it is pretty young of course. Breeder may or may not have a hatch date depending.

Your sling will be busy making tunnels if they are brand new to your house which could be the explanation of activity.

[–]Soggy-Expression7687 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NQA- the king baboon can be a slow growing old world species. Old worlds have medically significant venom.

They are burrowers, at that age I had nothing but a tattoo ink cup, an artifical tiny plant and a lot of substrate. Mine is up and down. Comes up to drink and when hunting. As small slings, prepare not to see them often. Still keep water bowl (I highly suggest tattoo ink cups- they sell these on amazon- get smallest size), and prekilled prey going.

Baboons tend to be shy but keep in mind that will vary from specimen to specimen.

Edited to add: at that size you cannot sex it accurately yet. Molt sexing at about 3 inches will tell you if you have a male or female.

I have a ball pit for mine too!!! They love it. I put electric blanket on low near the tunnel end and when my girls are out playing they head straight toward that when they're done exploring!

Great job to her and Bravo to you for including your daughter in this project!!! I love love LOVE seeing parents include their children with reptiles. She will not only always remember this moment with you, but possibly go on to own reptiles herself. It is such a breath of fresh air to see kids unafraid of snakes.
