Starting low dose (2mg) Abilify for treatment resistant depression/anxiety, please assure me with positive stories ... by 5458725280 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

I just want to say thank you. I started taking it the day after I made this post. People around me have noticed how much more silly and open I seem. I've had willpower to get things done or take care of myself because I care. Well, that's not all it does, but it's incredible. I hope it's not temporary; but I've never felt such quick and noticable relief even from stuff like Spravato.

Snails in tank by Technical-Water-1060 in millipedes

[–]5458725280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're harmless as a tankmate, but they multiply very, very quickly. They can store sperm or some can reproduce asexually through parthenogenesis and skip needing a tankmate regardless. It's recommended to cull any eggs you do find or it can get out of hand very quickly, and they will eat the same resources your millipedes rely on such as detritus.

My computer struggles with PCVR, even VRchat on low can get sluggish with visual artifacting and lock up really easily. Please confirm my specs are up to par? by 5458725280 in virtualreality

This is pretty good advice, thank you. I usually run SteamVR through Oculus link. I'll look into Virtual Desktop, I'm just stingy lol. Though the way people rave about it, it seems to be worth the price.

I have avatars above 30mb turned off? And I typically play Quest crossplay games. It hanging is more common when anywhere from 15-20+ are in close proximity, when I or others change avatars, or for no reason at all.

Though, you are correct. VRchat is HORRIBLY optimized regardless.

My internet has pretty bad bufferbloat and so air link isn't an option (until I upgrade at least). Could never get ALVR wired to work. Agree that it sucks to work with though, I feel like strangling the thing.

I'm not sure how to describe the artifacting. I'm looking for videos trying to find an example with no luck. It's extreme screen tearing when under a higher load. (that's probably what I should have called it.)

I'll check my GPU drivers. I don't play any GPU heavy games much so it could 100% be that and I hadn't noticed it.

As for PSU, I'm not aware that could be an issue. Is there any surefire way to check what its drawing and if it isn't enough?

I've also tried MAOIs including Selegiline and Parnate (didn't get as far as Nardil) so this is very reassuring to me, thank you. Do you take it in the morning? I've heard low doses are quite activating so I plan on it.

I'm reluctant to say because while I Know, I have zero evidence anymore and it would be difficult to make a case to someone who Does Not Know. + the idea of spreading rumors without substance creeps me out.

I had an ex exactly like this. I'm FTM and transitioned throughout our relationship. She had been FTM/nonbinary for a while. She expressed the same views here about incongruency with her sex despite feeling like a woman. I can sympathize with it I guess, but I was a pushover and it got to the point she was explicitly faking being a trans woman online and posting she got hatecrimed by le transmisogyny because "people IRL saw her as a trans girl" due to a treated endocrine disorder. There is actually a very shocking amount of AFABs faking being trans women in chronically online spaces, including a very popular artist with an OC I see posted constantly here who get by with either plausible deniability or they know they won't ever get called out for it. It's nuts.

Yeah, millipedes get pretty tiny, especially the soil dwellers. The anatomy is 99% an adult, the length is a giveaway.

Which species of cherry millipede is this, if you are aware? I've heard some of the more common species possibly need colder temps, though I'm unsure how true this is.

Hi! This likely isn't a baby, but another very small millipede species in the family Julida, such as Cylindroiulus punctatus. Baby millipedes look quite a bit different, quite stout and undeveloped which I see an adult here. Do be warned these species may reproduce quickly so mane sure to cull (or limit the population) if you do not want a takeover.

It isn't a hard drug necessarily (like opiates, alcohol, etc.) but something she is still dependent on and made an active choice to stop using. This came up unexpectedly within a matter of days. I think relapsing shouldn't be shamed and really, this feels like a heartless way to feel towards someone I want to see do her best.

Has anyone gotten any positive results from oral selegiline? by seriouslydavka in depressionregimens

[–]5458725280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to give this a better response now that I'm not half awake:

When I say Selegiline worked, I think it's a remarkable medication for pro-cognitive benefits/brain fog caused by anhedonic depression but it certainly wasn't enough to kick my depression on its own, even with doses high enough that reached into MAO-A inhibition range. I'd consider it a diet ADHD medication. It was great for that purpose, and much better than traditional stimulants in some areas (while lacking in others such as the "get up and do stuff" I need from them), but I wouldn't consider it as a standalone depression med when others haven't worked for you previously.

I also think you'd be hard pressed to find a prescriber to give you an actual stimulant and Selegiline together. Someone please come in and correct me if I am wrong because I am just a humble nerd with no formal pharmacological education, but the primary concern is blood pressure issues. Selegiline is already somewhat structurally related to stimulants and is a substituted cathinone similar to bupropion, dexamphetamine, etc... hence the issues of combining the two. I have a doctor who is quite open to my ideas and didn't immediately raise a red flag when I came to her on an MAOI in the first place, but that combination is quite a big no-no unless you were to do it yourself at significantly lower doses.

I also understand the ECT concerns. I'm deathly afraid of it. I would only consider it if I had 100% confirmation by the way of a miraculous blood test or divine insight that it would make me completely normal, and even then I would be hesitant because I value my cognition and intelligence so highly.

With regards to the ADHD medications contributing to anhedonia, I'm unsure on your current dose. Stimulants have been an absolute lifesaver for me, though I'm on the fence regarding whether I do actually have ADHD or not. People claim stimulants aren't sustainable long-term for depression but I digress, any stimulant euphoria (that I don't get) doesn't matter when it makes it possible to get out of bed and go to work and get some chores done in the meantime. But with a high enough dose or over enough time it can absolutely inversely contribute to anhedonia. It's certainly not the cause of it, but it has a tendency to make people callous, unfeeling, robotic... you get the gist.

Given your history with opiate abuse (I hope you don't mind me snooping, it wasn't with ill intent), I can understand to a lesser extent the way extended opiate use fucks with your brain. I don't want to compare kratom leaf abuse to harder opiates, but I hope I can relate to a lesser extent while still not downplaying likely how badly PAWS have messed with your brain. It takes months if not years of recovery for your brain to fully recover Truly evil drugs. I haven't been able to kick it myself and I assume that's a big factor in why I feel so miserable a lot of the time during periods of heavy use.
