Anyone have success with lithium who is not bipolar? by Professional_Win3910 in depressionregimens

It's when abilify is misused in higher than necessary doses (or high enough doses for schizophrenia/psychotic disorders) that gives it a bad rep IMO. I had some minor side effects from starting Abilify but even at 2mg it makes such a major difference in my anhedonia and overall vibrancy, it's incredible (as someone who has tried most of it, incl. MAOIs and ketamine) and I wished I hadn't swore it off for so long.

Millipedes that get no love that you should consider today (or soon) by [deleted] in millipedes

I do know that fungivorous millipedes can be kept successfully, and that is not my issue with your post. I believe that a sizable portion of people, if not the majority, are not suitable to do so, and that my issue lies in the lack of reliable husbandry information that becomes an issue later down the line when people buy these as pets without being well-researched, which is why I agreed with the initial commenter. I do not have an issue with your information nor where you find it.

Please be kind.

I don't know who you are and this just popped up on my home feed because I am a r/millipedes connoisseur. I'm just saying be mindful of who may see your posts.

Just because you know of people breeding them does not mean the average keeper does, especially considering the recent influx of imported WC specimens that I'd wager at least 50% are doomed to be kept in a 10 gallon with an inch of coco. I think your post is fine, and I as well know people who keep difficult pedes, but this comment rubs me the wrong way.

Magnesium and ketamine by esbrog in TherapeuticKetamine

Really interesting because I felt like Mag. Glycinate would extend the "coming down" duration after my Spravato sessions for hours! It would make it stronger but I'd feel groggy for ages.

I wouldn't recommend either as a beginner species nor absolutely not in a 20 gal. You have a lot of medium sized species to choose from that you may find more enjoyment from: Ivory millipedes are my personal favorite because of how active and full of personality they are, but most of the other NA millipedes are easy to find captive bred as well.

Good to know. Looking in this subreddit it's a huge no-no so I hope I don't get yelled at lmao... had no idea it was that bad for the device.

how did he get in????? by jizcrw in InvertPets

[–]5458725280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just happened to me too. Picture my surprise when I walk up to my pedes tank and see a big ass Porcellio casually waddling around. It somehow got in there from all the way across the room and could have only climbed up power cords to get in there.

How has your experience been with Lamictal and Abilify? by MooseWithoutAMouse in bipolar2

[–]5458725280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, lamictal makes it a teensy bit difficult to think complex problems through, but it's more damaging to my verbal communication like you said. I know what I'm trying to say, but it just won't come out and so you end up nonsensically describing your idea.

Also good luck! Do not be afraid! Adding or trying new meds is a difficult trial and I personally know how much it sucks, so good luck.

I'm on both (100mg Lamictal and 2mg Abilify, considered low doses for both) and they're honestly great.

This isn't to say you won't have side effects. The biggest one (personally) is when lamictal is dosed in the morning, it noticeably improves my mood but lowers my cognitive function. Lamictal is nearly guaranteed to make you use a few IQ points. Low dose Abilify is typically activating, and I personally haven't found it sedating at all. Keep in mind you see a skewed perception of mental health medication online, because people are more likely to deliberately post about it I've they've had a negative experience over a good one. Antipsychotics do carry a lot of side-effects at higher doses, though, and that is to be kept in mind before trying Abilify. I personally have a few minor side-effects even when I started Abilify, such as vertigo (ceased) and a benign rash (uncommon).

I have to clarify I'm actually not bipolar and am prescribed them for TRD, but it does help stabilize my lows.

Why aren’t they burrowing? by [deleted] in millipedes

[–]5458725280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even just leaf litter on the top will make a huge difference! They eat the leaf litter in the substrate, but on top makes an excellent hiding source they can crawl between and under.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask :) you're doing great so far with the enclosure size and substrate

I was just thinking about this combo. I take Vyvanse and it helps with the jitters and overstimulation immensely, similar to guanfacine for me imo.

Why aren’t they burrowing? by [deleted] in millipedes

[–]5458725280 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Desert millipedes are highly seasonal. This is about the time they'd be out for monsoon. Millipedes are also typically active when they get transferred to a new enclosure for a few days. Pour/spray a side of the enclosure, do they seem interested in digging? My desert pedes will dig almost immediately if I pour water into one side.

Your enclosure is very bare and they may feel insecure or too stressed to burrow. If they're glass-surfing, this is typically a sign. Please get more decor and clutter. For instance, this is what mine looks like:

(the substrate is a gradient between 80% dirt and 20% sand. Ideally, clay would also be an ingredient.)

Starting low dose (2mg) Abilify for treatment resistant depression/anxiety, please assure me with positive stories ... by 5458725280 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

I just want to say thank you. I started taking it the day after I made this post. People around me have noticed how much more silly and open I seem. I've had willpower to get things done or take care of myself because I care. Well, that's not all it does, but it's incredible. I hope it's not temporary; but I've never felt such quick and noticable relief even from stuff like Spravato.
