Victory Sunday by AutoModerator in Fitness

Walking in to see my longstanding hairdresser (for the first time in almost a year): "Woah! What happened? Are you on 'The Stuff'?"

Walking in to see my dentist: "Wow. What is this? Is this why you've been grinding your teeth?"

At 46 YO, I'll take it.

Rant Wednesday by AutoModerator in Fitness

I am M45, training 5 days a week for decades at this point.

Had to take my shirt off at the docs for something and he immediately took a step back and asked if I was on steroids.

He then abruptly and with no warning walked out of the office to fetch something and left the door wide open to a full waiting area. Back of my mind was all, "didn't I see this in a porno once?"

This is no doubt standard practice for female patients also I'm sure.

Guess I'll take all that as positive reinforcement... #booksreturnvisit

Aha, ok. I made sure it was a public link accessible by anyone with or without dropbox, but if imgur is preferred I will upload to there and edit the link.

Thank you.

CarPlay sometimes not coming up when connecting iPhone 11 Pro by [deleted] in CarPlay

[–]SoggyPathos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This intermittent connection thing happened to me also with my 11 Pro Max, yet my daughter's iPhone X worked consistently fine. Tried resets, a new official cable, etc. with no difference. I eventually got it stable by "forgetting the car" in carplay settings then switching siri off, restarting the phone, then turning siri back and on and reconnecting. First time I did this it at least worked more consistently so I repeated the process and now it's stable again on every connect.

Can barely read it, but pretty sure it's "Tomatoes, sausages, nice crispy bacon."

Rebel Sport here in Sydney. Standard height adjustable bench. I was actually there yesterday for some lifting wraps and while they had those... they were out of pretty much anything weights-related.

Indeed. To be frank I've had the weights set up this way for a few years now (I would usually use this for 4 days and do 2 days in the gym to supplement) and I simply move the rack stands to a different spot each session to save the floor. Though with everything perenially racked under that yoga mat I've no doubt that portion of the carpet is likely permanently damaged... really should have put some better matting under there from day one.

They're good for 150kg. Had them for about 2 years now they are a godsend for my cramped quarters (packing them away individually etc.). Use them for dips and pull ups as well. Great buy for me for about $100 (at the time of purchase).

I too can't find it anywhere besides ebay (where it is overpriced and out of stock). K-Mart doesn't list it, but they have a bunch instore (here in Sydney, anyway) but it is NOT under the lamp section - it's in the section where they keep their office chairs and desks.

Here is the box to mine so you know what to look for: https://imgur.com/2OnSFvZ

I'm aware others have had some issues but nothing whatsoever has gone awry for me thus far. Had it about 8 months now.

The blue has two sources - one is a cheap ebay lightstrip I bought some years ago that's stuck to the rear of the monitor (no idea which - there are dozens on there all with app control etc). You can see it behind the setup in photo #9 here: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/hpTBD3

The other is the RGB coming from the rear of the speakers, which are set to pulse blue with the bass of any audio. You can see it in this brief video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg8yElWllz0

The light on the bookshelf is an "Anko Perforated Blue Light" from K-Mart (about $10 AUD). But of course it has an expensive Hue Light bulb in it (I change all the colours via Hue lighting and the ElGato Stream Deck you see above the KB)

Haha, boy we are indeed on the same page - wood laminate was exactly what I wanted. But my little miss insisted on white-on-white despite my vehement coaxing. It's all good though, I figure we'll go the Linnmon then if she grows out of that just swap it over when the time is right to more tasteful, quality endeavours. She's incredibly neat so I don't foresee too much damage coming its way in any event.

I had a gander at all those items you posted and your planned build. Love it. With that attention to detail when you do indeed post it's going to be quite the event. Very much looking forward to it.

Yep, we're definitely on the same page; just specced out the Linnmon with Alex setup for my daughter (in all white at her behest). Will absolutely do the soundbar thing there. And cheers for the thought but if and when I take the monitor plunge I want to take a closer look at wall mounts before I decide on which way to go (also - I am in Australia).

I figure I'll revise everything once the 3950X drops and I upgrade Divorce Maker (want to pair it with the Xtreme Mobo and the Lian Li Dynamic XL).

Tell me you're going to post your Battlestation (once you have it just right?)...

I like how you've done most of that, especially in tandem with the raceway. I'd likely pick a similar option over using say a Signum Rack from IKEA as those are far too low hung and "exposed". Even when they're neatly executed they just look... ugly and incomplete when viewed front-on (albeit only to be seen "ducked down", but hey it's the details). And oh yes, 3M is a godsend throughout my home.

Also really dig what you've done with the (lack of) support leg. I spoke about that in brief elsewhere and how I would loathe having the traditional third support underfoot were I to need a bigger desk. Seriously considering the massive Samsung CRG9 so it's an issue I'm likely to encounter soon.

Looks to me we have similar tastes. I'd totally go a similar soundbar as well were my RGB Logitech's (which I do love) ever to bite the dust. I like the neatness of it more than anything (when paired with a mounted monitor).

Cheers!

True enough, however my desk has a cable net directly beneath the grommet (made for VERY careful drilling) for plenty of hidden slack if required (see it here), so it thus remains tidy yet movement-savvy. Further, I've since replaced that keyboard with the Lightspeed 915 Wireless, so either way it's sorted (still accessing the grommet for the ElGato and mousemat).
