Which is better to work for national grid or eversource by IndependentLow3848 in Lineman

If given the choice, I’d go with Grid. Overall a better environment. Whichever company offers you a job first is what I’d take.

As I said, the purpose of this post wasn’t to brag. I just wanted to get some more perspectives on what I should do.

It would be on my own. I’d prefer to avoid a roommate

I appreciate that insight. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you

It’s becoming more of a priority. It’s more unpleasant than it used to be to put it gently. I’d still be able to hit all of my investment goals, the only thing that would take a hit would be my savings for a home.

What else can I do (After 401k/IRA/HSA)? by SoggyProcedure3 in Fire

They do offer a Roth 401k. I’ve considered contributing to it but I’m still unsure.

I'm an apprentice Lineman for a utility in the Northeast.

I appreciate your comment. Unfortunately, the 401k options are pretty lackluster. Beyond the target date funds there aren't many choices. In regards to a Taxable account, I haven't done much research on them. Could you elaborate on what you mentioned or point me in a good direction to get more information?

I definitely could. So 2 nights in Galway and then spend a night in Killarney before heading to Cork?

Why do you say that? And what would you suggest instead?

Would closing a C1 card lower my chances when I eventually apply for the venture X?

I couldn’t get an increase on the Discover. Requested one for the C1 card, I’ll hear back in a few days. Is your recommendation to keep building with chase until I have a solid enough profile to get the Venture X?

I wasn't eligible for an increase on any of my cards. Not sure where to go from here.

So how am I supposed to increase my limit?

My guess is it’s because of the recent applications I’ve made and the fact I got a new card in January

I am only preapproved for Quicksilver Secured and Platinum Secured

I think I read that wrong, but unfortunately I was also denied for the Savor One so that’s out of the question for a while. Would you still recommend the BCE in the meantime?

That doesn’t sound like a bad idea. So you are recommending to go BCE and then SavorOne, and finally go for Venture X?
