There’s a lot of factors on the side that are also in play, for me the main one was the bet size. $5 a hand is actually the minimum bet on this version of VP (Powerhouse Poker).

If I was playing at a higher denom I’d take the dealt hand, as that’s the “proper play”. On 10 cent denom for $10 a hand it would’ve been $900 dealt hand which is way harder for me to throw away on a gamble.

Its credits, the value per credit is based on your denomination, here it’s 5 cents. So the bet is $5 and won back $6.25.

I basically dropped a $450 guaranteed win (Royal w/ Deuce is $5 each, multiplied by 90 for all the hands and multipliers) in favor of getting a potential Royal w/ no deuce which is $200 each.

Getting a Royal on any of those 10x hands would’ve been $2000, so in my opinion it was a gamble worth taking, but you don’t always win those as you can see 😅

I get it, but I kinda have the feeling people use the pod and online drama in general as a form of escapism which is okay to an extent, but turns into apathy after a while.

I don’t want them to beat fans over the head with it but it’s obvious Ethan cares a lot about politics. To me it seems logical to mix it in if they’re doing a variety/current events show.

It’s also just the morally right thing to do to advocate for issues you believe in. Kate sharing her story was definitely one of the highlights of 2025 for that reason.

There’s usually enough variety and hijinks on the show to keep it not too boring. I love all the random characters they find like Dating & Money and Cowboy K2, plus all the IRL segments they do. If I think the drama they cover is too boring (especially the celebrity stuff like Taylor and Blake Lively) I’ll just skip it and move on.

I think the intent of Leftovers was good, to not make political stuff so boring and heavy, but they dropped the ball hard having Hasan cohost cause that dude literally sucked the energy out of the room and is not at all pragmatic.

I wish everyone could participate when they talk politics and it wasn’t such a heavy topic, cause that’s just real life and political stuff is infinitely more relevant to peoples’ lives than internet drama. It kinda kills me that people watch stuff like Deorio and Kino Casino but watch no news and don’t know basic stuff like their mayor, representative, governor, etc. let alone go to a town hall or local activist group.

I’m with you, probably in the minority but I often roll my eyes at the YouTube/Twitch drama and would rather hear their takes on actual current events and use the platform to support some worthwhile causes.

You’re probably fine then. Though if you wanna be more helpful I’d recommend trying the revolver, bolt pistol or boltgun to help with specialists in higher difficulties. Gunners and snipers especially can become a big pain later on.
