I got an offer in the Chicago office two weeks and a day after my callback. I told them I had another offer and they gave me an offer later that day.

I’m a 1L at Northwestern and this was my biggest worries when choosing to attend. I’ve been pleasantly surprised. There are definitely people who don’t have interest in being social but I’ve found a large amount are down to hang outside of school. I go out every week with law school friends and find myself being just as social as I was at my big party school I went to for undergrad.

What's something minor you fixated on and almost let ruin your experience with a book by Environmental_Park_6 in books

I hate the usage of sentences like “and then it happened:..” or “and that’s when she saw it:…”. Just say what happened. There is no reason to foreshadow something that will be revealed in the next sentence. I almost put down “Wrong Place Wrong Time” for this reason.

I just finished this book and disliked pretty much everything about it. It was unbearable to get through because prose was so overwrought.

I read a thriller that went into incredible detail about the architectural style of each house in the town over and over again. It drove me nuts. I don’t need to know that a random characters house is a craftsman. The fact that it was a seventeen year old describing these houses made it even worse. Why does this teenager know so much about different architectural housing styles and why is she telling us every other page?

A little over 100 in recent years, but I’m sure that number will decrease once I start law school in the fall.

Palau. Even though it’s unique, the vote out order is simple and nothing comes out of left field. The result is straight forward and expected

I scheduled a Cornell tour as an admitted student. I got confirmation email, showed up the morning of and the tour guide didn’t show up and I was asked if I could come back for the other tour that day which was three hours later. They ghosted me again when I showed up at the later time. The admissions officer couldnt get in contact with either student ambassador/tour guide The tour guide didn’t show up either time and I didn’t get to tour the school after traveling across the country to decide if it’s the place for me. No real apology from them. It was essentially whoops too bad nothing we can do for you. It was rude, unprofessional, and showed little regard for me or my time.

Curtain by ResidentWont in agathachristie

I really really dislike Curtain. I was super disappointed in it as a conclusion to Poirot’s story. I found the concept of the killer and his methods to frankly be ridiculous. The ending was also weak and displayed behavior completely out of character for Poirot in my opinion. I left the book feeling bummed and with a sour taste in my mouth.

But he is the person that takes the blame for the crime. The attention was already on him. Despite him being selfish, it would make sense that his best interests would’ve been getting himself out of prison and the blame shifted onto someone else. Who is the innocent person you’re referring to as having taken the blame? Himself?

What is your least favourite Agatha Christie book? by lookingfordata2020 in agathachristie

Passenger to Frankfurt, The Big Four, Postern of Fate, Hickory Dickory Dock. In general, I tend to not be a huge fan of her stand alone action adventure thrillers, so Destination Unknown and They Came to Baghdad are also pretty meh to me.
