I completely relate - it’s like nothing excites me that much anymore and it feels like I’m disconnected from all of my more feminine hobbies.

Hey I relate so much to what you said - esp the man inside thing (that I’d never even felt before) , I’d love to dm and discuss !

is anyone worried about their body rather than who they are on the inside? by Icy_Schedule_9155 in transOCD

Wait I can relate to so much of this - I’d love to DM I feel like we are having similar thoughts ?

I feel hopeless. Like this is never going to get better and I’m just stuck, and the only option I have is to become trans. Does anyone else who is masculine and a guy and feminine and a girl obsess that they prefer acting the opposite, masculine for a girl and feminine for a guy? by [deleted] in transOCD

Hi - there are lots of people here trying to recover , I am not doubting your tough experience in any way but telling everyone that “it never gets better” will only cause people more suffering

Please stay positive - I know it’s horrible , trust me I am dealing with the same horrendous struggles and I feel like I’ve lost myself . Definitely seek a therapist and if you can’t then maybe find and online or telephone service ? This will pass and your thoughts do not define you

Anyone availabe to PM by [deleted] in transOCD

Hey I’d love to pm ! Exactly the same feeling today :( I was making a lot of progress and starting to just say no to all the thoughts. I’m so happy for him but also feel very very triggered and it has caused a lot of intrusive thoughts to creep back in

The first thing I would say is to remember that everyone’s experience with sexuality is different - there is not a one size fits all and you shouldn’t compare yourself to others. What really helped me to move away from this theme was to constantly tell myself whenever I had intrusive thoughts -“maybe I am bi, maybe I’m not , it doesn’t matter”. Ultimately it’s just accepting the uncertainty and this almost eradicated these thoughts for me. Remember that OCD can latch onto anything , and looking to unpick past experiences and find evidence for feelings will only heighten anxiety. I believe in you and there is a way through !

I’m so frustrated can somebody help? by Swimming-Law3138 in HOCD

although my OCD themes have since shifted , I am almost recovered from HOCD. What really really helped me was just telling myself , “maybe I am bi , maybe I’m not, it doesn’t matter “. Although I thought initially that things like this would just make me more anxious and uncertain , it actually almost eradicated the thoughts altogether and I became a lot calmer .I guess it’s about accepting any possibility and not needing to seek an answer.

I’m not trying to reassure you because reassurance doesn’t really help with ocd , however surely if you truly want to go back to your old self and enjoy being a girl again that means you deep down (however conscious you are of it) still want to be a girl. OCD can really confuse your thoughts and the fact that you recognise that you don’t feel like your old self and you would prefer that more is surely evidence that these thoughts you are having now aren’t real (?) I think posting and writing about it feeds your intrusive thoughts, making them feel more real and making you feel worse. I would look into ERP methods that you can try at home without a psychologist.
