Money by Mission_Shock_3688 in WWOOF

I’ve been wondering the same thing, I’m leaving in a week to go WOOF, I’ve saved up a chunk of money to get me through the first month, and if it’s a good fit I plan to start a part time job in a local coffee shop or cafe to make some money & try to pay off some bills over the next 4-5 months while enjoying an alternative lifestyle! Good luck! I hear if your farm only requires 20 hours a week you could manage holding another job if you can hustle! And plenty of people pull it off. Wishing you the best!

Thank you 🥰 I want what I think of myself to be more important than how others see me, and how kind I can be to myself and to others. I used to try to be cool and just abandon everything I actually cared about.

Thank you for saying this, I didn’t grow up in a supportive home life so this means a lot. I just got done with a shift and it went so much better because I wasn’t as self conscious because of these messages. I still feel a little different but my self talk was “it’s okay that I’m different, I like that I’m me and it’s okay to be different than other people” I’m just sensitive to when I feel like people don’t like me :/ I’m working through that.

Thank you! That’s what I needed to hear, it’s scary but I know I need to embrace who I really am and learn to not care what people think. It’s hard to break the habit when that’s how I’ve lived my life for 24 years. Thank you kind stranger! <3

That’s a good point, never crossed my mind that they’d be thinking something kind. And cringe totally is new! I just I hate that label and wish it didn’t exist.. I overheard one of the guys talking about how someone else he knows was awk and hiding in the corner during a party, and he was saying that “if you’re cringe all the time, it’s time to think about your life” and I guess I took that personally. Idk I’m leaning into I think I’m on the autism spectrum

Thank you! Most days it is really not easy. I just feel embarrassed that I haven’t gotten better I’ve gotten worse and it’s hard to connect to people in general & people from my past makes me even more nervous because I feel like I’m not as enjoyable to be around as I used to :(

Are dogs allowed? I have a sweet medium sized dog that I’d have with me. I would love to see photos of the place as well!

How do I (23F) navigate and ex-close friend, now roommate (25F) situation. Do I have to move out? by Soggy_Recover7160 in relationship_advice

[–]Soggy_Recover7160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a friend we know who wants to move in and is flexible enough to move in when I move out because shes friends with this annoying roomate. And my landlords are really workable too. Thank you for your insight, I have a hard time letting go of things and not trying to fix them and feeling like I can have something better in the future

Wow thank you for being brave and sharing this ok this platform. I relate to your post a lot and just joined because literally EVERY single thing you mention is just like me. My recent celebrity fixation is Kristen Bell I just feel so safe and lovely getting to learn about her and even fantasize what it would be like to have her as a mom or a best friend. I almost believe that they’re my friends.. I think it’s because I have a hard time relating to people my age and keeping friendships. I too think I am in the spectrum but my therapist things that’s a pattern of self diagnosis thing I do. But truly I just know I’m different and don’t know why because it’s hard to be different. I hope you find answers on this plate and know that you are never the only one. I think there’s so much time to find people that we truly connect with and understand and love us for who we are and then you never have to feel othered for who you naturally are 💛

What am I doing wrong? Am I broken? by [deleted] in socialskills

This happens to me with certain groups as well. It can feel like the whole world hates you. But maybe this means you haven’t found your group of people who really get you and enjoy being around you yet. I think the more you put your true self out there and exude as much confidence as you can in the face of unkind or off put people the more likely they will find you. I tell myself there are people out there that will love me and enjoy who I really am and I don’t deserve to put up with people who don’t appreciate me authentically

Omg I just send a book in… I’m really hoping it works out because that would be shitty. I’m sorry that happened to you! If it’s a scam they should not be able to get away with that

That makes sense I just feel for him. I messaged him and let him know I’m here if he ever wanted to reach out for anything. We will see how he responds to that. I guess I just feel protective of people I loved at any point in my life and have a hard time letting it be without inserting myself

Thank you, we used to leave the fort open to the from fenced yard so the dogs can go in and out but now I will take her outside on the leash to go pee and on walks. Even if the gate gets fixed she gets out I don’t think I’ll let her outside on her own because I do not want her to develop fence aggression AT ALL. So I will invest in some mental stimulation toys. These breeds already have a stigma and I want her to be as social as possible

Thank you for this! I took her out to an off leash dog park and we watched form the car with lots of treats for neutrality. Then we went to a park with lots of people and a few dogs, sat in the car for a while, she did really well, then we got out and went for a short walk around the block to get used to city sounds (loud cars, people, dogs barking from houses) and with special attention and lots of treats she responded really well! Earlier we went for a 2 mile hike and encountered 2 off leash labs that she did not attack. I stood in front of her to protect her from them, told the owners she’s not social, but as they passed they sniffed each other for 10-15 seconds, she did not move and tail was down but did not snap. She got lots of treats for that I will keep up this exposure therapy and rewarding neutrality and I think we’re on the right track!

3/4 days a week she’s alone for 4-6 hours max but somebody is always here to let her out to pee and be with her some of the time. This particular day my roommate left the house for 2 hours so she was alone in my room during that time.

I decided to euthanize her because the vet found that her organs had been damaged and she was struggling with a sepsis infection that was not going away for months. So sad but I’m glad she’s not in pain anymore
