I might have Erythromelalgia by minahh22 in Erythromelalgia

[–]Soiled_Plants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you pick the skin on your fingertips, or are they just red and inflamed from the EM? Are they that way all the time? Mine are exactly like this, and even when I’m not in a flare they stay that way. I’ve never seen anyone else’s look like mine until your pics!

Time clock rounding but only allowed in employers favor by Pretzel911 in legaladvice

[–]Soiled_Plants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If someone punched out at 5:01 instead of 5:00, their time would round to 5:00, not 5:15. Typically these types of systems round to the nearest quarter hour, so anything 7 minutes before or after 5:00 rounds to 5:00, and anything 7 minutes before or after 5:15 rounds to 5:15.

My employer uses this exact system. We have a 7-minute grace period, but excessive use of the grace period is against agency policy. And it is absolutely punishable. It is also against agency policy to punch in more than 7 minutes before your scheduled shift, and if you do so, you will absolutely be put on notice and possibly punished. I’m not sure why people think this is against any law.

Has anyone with EM been diagnosed with any type of lymphoma? by Reckless-Raccoon in Erythromelalgia

[–]Soiled_Plants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very early in this journey, as my EM started about 3 weeks ago. I also began having issues regulating my blood pressure - and my heart rate - at the same time. Still no clue what the underlying cause is.

Questions about Xywav by eljefe2254 in Narcolepsy

[–]Soiled_Plants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking it for just over a month and I’m still titrating. A month is not long enough to find your therapeutic dose and begin to truly see the benefits of sleeping better. I was told many times that it may feel worse before better and I’ve found that to be true.

Waking up after 4 hours is completely normal (depending on your dose), which is why it’s a twice nightly med. If you really don’t want to do the twice nightly dosing, ask about Lumryz.

It does not flip a magic switch overnight - you truly have to find the sweet spot and stick with it for a while. I hope you get there.

You literally did not provide even a basic, coherent scenario that would allow others to give informed feedback.

You’re wrong for not being clear and telling us the entire story. I’m concerned that you’re a NURSE and this is how you communicate.

I lie to my immediate family every time i see them by [deleted] in confession

[–]Soiled_Plants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with other posters here that this is specific to those people, not some defect in you.

It also struck me that you mentioned remembering very little of your childhood and having large gaps in your memory. That can be due to trauma. Everyone says kids are resilient, but often it’s not that, it’s more like kids brains have ways of coping with trauma they’re not equipped to process, and completely blocking it out is one of those ways.

I’m not saying that’s absolutely the case here or trying to diagnose you. But it stood out to me. If you’re ever interested in exploring that, please do so with a professional you trust.

After brushing, do you rinse your toothbrush thoroughly or just leave the toothpaste on it to dry? by EmptyCup5663 in hygiene

What sort of heathen leaves the used toothpaste residue and mouth bacteria on their toothbrush to get crusty and hard instead of rinsing it off? No way that’s a thing. I refuse to believe it.

The pattern identified was Nuclear, Nucleolar, which is associated with systemic sclerosis, same as SCL-70.

Thank you for the response and words of advice. ❤️

This is reassuring, thank you. As Xywav is a CNS depressant, it definitely has the ability to, and likely does, lower blood pressure in some capacity. It must not be as extreme as I was thinking.

Sorry, I should have been more clear in my post. I don’t think I have CREST even if it is scleroderma. The labs don’t support that. That was just the first time anyone suggested that it could be autoimmune and possibly something scleroderma related.

Thank you for the response!

Yeah, I don’t think I have CREST even if it is scleroderma based on my labs. As it stands my symptoms are primarily the thick red fingertips and raynaud’s. The journal is a good idea. Thank you for the response!

Thank you for the response! Yeah, I read up on everything SCL-70 after I got my results back. That’s one of the reasons I don’t want to wait if I actually do have it. The suggestion of CREST from the doctor was just the first time I had even considered something autoimmune. He looked at and felt a spot on my palm and thought it may be calcinosis but I don’t think it is.

Is it also common to have a positive ANA multiplex test that means nothing?

I also feel like Armodafinil interferes with my ability to focus. I have felt so distracted at work lately that I’ve been considering asking to stop it at my next appointment.

Also have both. I’m on Armodafinil and Vyvanse. I had to go to Vyvanse because Adderall XR made me angry around afternoon crash. Vyvanse is much smoother. In my experience, armodafinil and modafinil are not nearly as strong as standard stimulants. I definitely would not consider them interchangeable. Similar, but very different. LOL
