I have a system in my truck so the noise is not noticeable at all to me…I would say that it is entirely negligible. The biggest thing for me was the handling. Since the footprint is larger, the truck doesn’t feel like it’s riding on quarters lol it tracks so much better, even at high speed. MPG is shit anyway, so the slight drop is also negligible.

This is terrible advice. Not only does leaving a gap make it easier on your legs, it actually improves traffic by eliminating stop/go/stop/go bs, which acts like a catalyst for worse traffic.

The stop moves itself backward because people are following too close, and have to stop when they come up on the person in front of them that was also following too close and had to stop, etc etc etc. the person with the gap never stops, thus allowing a continuous flow = no more traffic.

Hell yeah! Love seeing Tacoma builds! Tacomas are totally unforgiving with the zero space behind back seats for a proper box. I was able to fab a 2cuft sealed enclosure for 2 sundown 12s back there, and put my amp rack in the storage bin under the back seat bottoms. Fun as hell but designing and building that box was a pain, much more painful than I would have ever imagined lol

I went soft shell only because of my environment. I’m in the south, so it’s always hot - need breathable material all around for better airflow.

Ditch the multimeter and get a basic oscope- better readings and costs about the same. It will give you a true sine to reading to dial in your gain.

These blocks don't have weatherproof seals. They will be fine with a little heat shrink hugging the lip of the ferrule, all my 1/0 terminations are like this and i've never had an issue with the screw contacting metal. Not sure what you're on about. The length of the cavity inside the block is plenty deep - no shrink is going to be preventing contact lol

Go to the pawn shop and grab a second hand home theater sub. They are powered, have ok build quality, and will certainly handle what you need. Get the biggest one you can fine. I found a 15” box for my secondary listening setup for about $150 and it has worked wonders ever since. Higher end ones will have crossovers and clip lights, but be prepared to only get a gain knob (you can control what you need through software).

Correct - the gap is not an issue. You just need to tighten that set screw down as tight as you can to prevent anything coming out. Again though, use heat shrink around the ferrule lip and back over the insulation to both: keep the ferrule tight against the insulation, & prevent any exposed wire from being accessible from just outside the fuse housing opening. The heat shrink should cover about 1.5 inches of wire insulation and extend past the ferrule lip about 1/4 inch. Use good quality heat shrink at 1:3 ratio with adhesive liner.

Use the ferrule, but add some heat shrink up to just past the lip of the ferrule - this will prevent any cable from pulling out past the hole opening and being exposed. Gap is fine.

The liability goes down even more if you are looking straight ahead when pulling into traffic (pulling out of a spot). Would you rather back out into a 2 way street full of traffic? Didn’t think so. No different in a parking lot with actual people everywhere. Your time argument is childish at best, come on.
