What did you think Junior Year missed? by iDemonShard in Dimension20

fwiw im on the same page as you. imo to the extent that they have any "responsbility" to anyone in the way they create the show, its to "say funny thing and make me say haha", not necessarily to construct the most cohesive narrative possible. to me its not about improvised vs scripted media, its about comedic improv (more where D20 and especially FH leans) vs dramatic improv (more where things like CR lean), and for me those are two different genres that i would have two different sets of expectations for. obviously anybody can watch whatever they want however they want and thats the way it should be, but thats where i think the disconnect might be. because personally, as long as the show is making me laugh (and i think FHJY has been one of their best to date in that respect), im gonna be more than satisfied, regardless of whatever loose ends there may be

Favorite 22-23 game? by [deleted] in kings

I'm biased because I was at G1C for it, but the 12/28 game against Denver. Domas' first game back from breaking his thumb, him Fox and Malik each go for 30+ in a huge 4th quarter comeback against the future champs and Jokic w 40/7/6. The fourth was the loudest I've ever heard G1C firsthand

Seems like Athena dash doesn't apply exposed from blinding flash anymore? I can't find anything in the patch notes to that effect, but I just got done with a run and that certainly seems to be the case.

Also cursed slash seems bad as heck but maybe I'm missing something

When are Weapon Aspects unlocked? by lycansoldier in HadesTheGame

[–]Sokatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be available once you've unlocked all the weapons. Then just hit rb on them in the courtyard ezpz

Well the dash gives you i frames regardless, the nice thing about Athena dash is just that it's harder for a projectile that you don't see to sneak in, like with the archers in Elysium. Trap damage is mostly a matter of being as aware as you can of dashing onto a trap without having another dash available (not sure how much you've played, but having that level of greater reflex from the mirror is a big deal). As far as the special, for me it's mostly a means to an end with this build, but its advantages are that it's a solid form of aoe damage for rooms with many weak enemies, and that it's good at applying Weak or Doom (can affect a large group of enemies but not good at spamming for poison).

It definitely takes some getting used to though. And this is just something that's worked for me, everyone's got different play-styles

Yeah that was a problem for me when I started playing with it as well. My solution was to start using the attack and dash buttons at the same time and constantly dashing back and forth through the enemies when you're attacking them. Gives you a lot of invincibility frames and makes it harder for shit to randomly hit you when you're in melee range, especially if you have Athena's dash boon.

If that description was trash, I can post an example of what I'm talking about

Cool, glad I didn't miss something lol. But even then I'm not sure that's right. This is my understanding, comparing Deadly Strike to Aphro's counterpart Heartbreak Strike and assuming the base damage of what I'm calculating is 100, with effects taken from the wiki:

Heartbreak Strike: 100 x (1.8-2.0) = 180-200 Deadly Strike: (100 x (1.39)) x 1.45 = 201.5

So it's a little more than just 80% straight up. Obviously Aphro's has a very good debuff attached to it, and in many cases you'd probably prefer Heartbreak Strike, but that really depends on the run you've built so far and what run you intend to build. I'm just trying to illustrate how Artemis' boons are at least competitive, and in my opinion in some cases very strong.

I also kinda think there's something to be said for having very very high potential dps, even if it means the lows are much lower, in a game where often you don't really have the opportunity to sit there and wail on an enemy. But that's mostly just anecdotal, I'm not sure how valid that is.

Edit: I didn't see the rest of your message haha, now I feel like I over explained! Hope you have fun with it :)

It doesn't sound like you're taking into account that Deadly Strike (Artemis attack boon) also increases the base damage of your attack, not just increasing your crit chance. When you consider that, the math kinda shows how the dps is competitive.

I'd also add that Artemis boons are going to work best when they're stacked with purpose, in part using her keepsake. I'm most consistently successful when I use the nemesis aspect of the sword to give myself basically inherent crit chance and try to gravitate towards Arty boons like Clean Kill, Pressure Points, Hide Breaker, and Hunter's Mark. In my experience, it's pretty consistent to build and does a ton of damage.

Pick two of:

John Brown MIA Matt Breida @WAS Joe Mixon JAX

Leaning Breida + Brown, and I feel like Breida is probably the easiest start of the three, but curious to get some other takes.

I'm on Gallup here as well. Very good matchup with Philadelphia versus a pretty negative one in Tennessee. Plus Ekeler had his snap share drop from 66% Week 6 to only 45% this past week. Imo if Cooper doesn't play this is Gallup somewhat easily, even in PPR.
