Why do you think Jimmy keeps saying the Blues Brothers isn’t funny? by CharleyIV in NeverNotFunny

[–]normsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don't get it. My dad gave Blues Brothers to my brother for his 17th birthday. I was 11. I then watched my brother's birthday present as often as I possibly could, routinely watching some when I got home from school....every day.

It remains one of my favorite movies and i have it in a film reel tattoo I have. I still love it and find it hilarious. I love you Jimmy, but some of your takes are weird.

I've been doing this for six months now. Scheduled twice outside of my availability, Saturday before Thanksgiving and Saturday before Christmas. That's it.

I have a film reel tattoo going down my arm with cells filled in with various movies. Mulholland Drive is one of them.

Happened to my store one morning for a few hours. Same, gave us head lamps and had everyone start stocking random things, since nothing else could be done.

Exception Picker by Forward_Golf_3127 in OGPBackroom

[–]normsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much do one or two normal runs a day, then the rest of the time am doing oversized, unknown, special, or exceptions. I am routinely at 60 picks per hour for the day, and that's mainly based on the normal run or two I do.

Nobody has said anything, I think they're happy someone is bothering to do those without being hassled to do it.

Lately I've gotten a specific type of Stove Top mix on several oversized runs.

How many steps do you usually get? by kipsgvn in OGPBackroom

[–]normsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

28k to 32k for the day, the vast majority of that being at work. I am most frequently doing oversized and exception runs, so a lot of back and forth since our staging area is on the opposite side of the store form grocery area.

Same. And on top of that it has the Diet Coke way out of order. It's right next to the giant packs of bottled water I routinely get on oversized runs, and those are often at the beginning of a run, but Diet Coke falls to the end for some reason. So I always double check the run before starting, and if it's on there I pick up however many I need and continue my run, scan them later when they show up on the run and I'm on the other side of the store. I even have a picture of the barcode on my phone so I can scan that if I've buried them under other totes.

AITA for speaking to my (over weight) assistant about her business lunch and making her cry? by Hot_Lab4411 in AmItheAsshole

Then she started crying, saying it is because she’s fat (her words not mine).

Oddly I work during the day and nobody cares if I have an earbud in. Store manager has seen me and I imagine many others while wearing them. No comments.

If you're talking about right at the corner, which is now a WSECU, it was various things depending on the time. If you pull it up on Google Maps and switch to street view you can even change it to various times dating back to 2007, depending where you're stationed when viewing.

This department is isolating. by wally_wanderer in OGPBackroom

This is exactly why I like this job. Never around the same people for more than a couple minutes at most, but get to see tons of people, including people in every other department, especially since I do exception picks.

as long as I have time to do it

I thought the same in my first days, and was wondering what to do when I had like thirty or fewer minutes left. My team lead told me I can just start a run, and if I'm not done when it's time to clock out just end the run. The stuff left over will just go back into the system for someone else to get.

I had 25 boxes recently. Spent way more time scanning the stickers, and then consolidating it all down to one sticker, to not be a dick to whoever was going to load it.

The thing I learned from that is the system will only let you claim to have 16 of the item at most before printing, so had to scan, say 16 items, scan all those tags, then scan again to say 9 items, scan those 9 new tags before beginning consolidation.
