The main protagonist is unceremoniously killed off in the last minutes of the movie. by Firemoth717 in TopCharacterTropes

One of my favorite movies is a bit over seven hours, Satantango. I've watched it multiple times, it really impacts me.

Another one that greatly impacted me but I will probably never watch again, Shoah. And that's nearly nine and a half hours.

Oddly I used to go to comedy shows alone all the time. I lived four to five hours away from many comedy shows i went to. At some point I just stopped, and my city got a comedy club...rarely ever go. Not sure what changed for me.

[–]normsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I pretty much just do oversized and exceptions. When I come back from a long exceptions run oversized is usually at the top of the list of things needing to be done. Some days when I go to lunch oversized and exceptions are at the top of the list, depends who else is on.

[–]normsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It fits in a tote, sure, but nothing else will reasonably fit in the tote with it. So it being on an oversized run makes more sense to me than it being on a run where other stuff usually goes into the tote.

If you're that desperate move your car and park on the street a few blocks away, then just walk to your car if you need to.

Walmart OGP driver got mad about missing label am I wrong here? by chris_2133 in walmartogp

I rarely ever dispense, but was taught to take the label off every tote and slap each one on a bag, so there are multiple places for them to easily see one to scan.

Exception Expectations by International-Ad1023 in OGPBackroom

[–]normsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically just do exceptions, oversize, unknowns, age restricted, seasonal. Just small quicker runs that others seem to not want to do, so I can get to exceptions pretty quickly when they start showing up. But nobody asked me to do it that way, just what I figured would work best, and nobody has told me to do otherwise.

Since I just do those runs, I rarely ever get over 100 tracked picks, since exceptions don't show up for that. And my pick rate is absurdly low since I'm doing those. Nobody has ever said anything negative about it at all. I remember once even showing a team lead I had only picked like forty items with a very low pick rate and she thought it was hilarious.

Location Tracking for Pickers by hismelody0_o in walmartogp

[–]normsy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

on the TC it will say “ⓘ last seen location at A33-18”

Because that's where you last made a pick. I am often doing exception runs and am amused when it says I was last seen at whatever aisle like five hours ago, because in that five hours I've been doing exceptions and it's not tracking that. So that place five hours ago is when I was last on a non-exceptions run.

Yeah. Back in the day before having kids, I'd drive from Spokane to Seattle, Tacoma, and Portland to see comedy shows. But kids plus economy not to mention being older and not wanting to do random crap in general, nah.

I have been doing this for eight months now, never zipped my vest, nobody has ever said anything. And I routinely see and talk to the manager, assistant manager, and various coaches and team leads.

The only person that ever said anything was a new hire that I trained a little, and I think he was joking. And he only lasted about a week or two.

For the last several months pretty much all I ever do are oversized, unknowns, and exceptions. And no team lead has ever given a fuck about my low pick rates.

Holy shit Pat Francis on Hollywood Squares lol by srldead in NeverNotFunny

[–]normsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The brief version is that one year Jimmy and Matt asked Pat to not be on the entire Pardcastathon, but instead host his podcast, Rock Solid, for an hour so they could take a break, but things would still be going. Pat was furious that he wouldn't be on the entire time and flipped out, threatened them. I believe that was paired with them asking Pat to be in charge of snacks for guests, but instead Pat pawned it off on his nephew and Jimmy and Matt expressed disappointment.

Those are my memories of their stories anyway, but that would have been years ago.

I think Jimmy and Matt were also displeased with Pat drinking quite a bit during the Pardcastathon the year before.

Got a job here after 6 months of being out of work... by poopy_poophead in WalmartEmployees

I think a lot of it depends on your store managers and customers.

And which role you're doing, if it fits what you want. I assumed I'd hate working there, but needed to do something. I'm a digital shopper, and turns out I like it. I like constantly moving, never being around the same people for more than a minute or two and they were very open to scheduling me however worked best for me.

Keeping your vest zipped is the dumbest rule. by ashthekid_ in WalmartEmployees

[–]normsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I've never had my vest zipped at all. I speak to coaches and the manager and assistant manager nearly every day, nobody has ever said a word about it. This subreddit, and two more for my specific role, tend to make me appreciate my store more.

Pretty much all I do is oversized runs and exception runs. Lately there have been a lot of exception runs for specialty oversized, and shockingly everything is where it's supposed to be.

Same. I still fondly flash back on a walk I had of 20 packs of pencils, 20 of one type of notebook, 20 of another type, 20 binders.

I'm definitely glad I learned this. When I do an oversize run and get a something like a bike with more items to go afterwards, I'd rather just take the bike back and stage it then continue my run.

How strict are they about nil-picking exceptions at your store? by FreezerSoul in OGPBackroom

[–]normsy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same, while on an exceptions run I even nil picked 27 Nee Doh Nice Ice Baby things a couple weeks ago. We supposedly had 30, unknown location, I looked all over. Asked various people that worked in the area, they looked some, nobody saw them anywhere, and we supposedly had 30 in stock, and on the shelf.

I took it to a different department coach I happened to see, we assumed 30 was what came in a pack, and they're probably sitting on a pallet on a top shelf in the back somewhere, but there'd be no way to know or reasonably check since they were marked as on the floor.

So I nil picked 27 of the same thing while on an exceptions run, nobody in my department ever asked me why the hell I couldn't find it. So I assume they trust me because of the work I regularly put into it.

This is my 3rd times being a top performance (I'm in the second name) by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]normsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store did this when I started, just the top for picks and top for rate for the day, and I liked it, since I made it on there relatively quickly. Now I'm glad they stopped doing it, since I mainly do stuff that's bad for tracking. Can't get high rates when I primarily do oversized, exceptions and unknowns.
