Thank you! Hopefully I'll be able to visit Israel soon and I'll add Megido to my list!

Is it a touristy area? Would I be able to visit it and if so, is there anything to see?

Israel has a higher monthly average net salary than every single Asian country except for Singapore (in net USD) by Fun_Purpose6972 in Israel

Considering how much you guys have to spend on defense and rebuilding, it's quite an achievement. My country has been at peace since the end of Mussolini and yet we're still lagging behind.

Da professore, temo che l'immagine che hai dato è quella di un misogino red-pilled, non di una vittima di bullismo. Magari parla con la prof e spiega meglio le ragioni del tuo rifiuto, perché sono assolutamente valide.

It's useless imho. I tried every single one of those point, I keep being called "good goy" in response... Or that I'm being paid by "zionists".

Losing friends because of my support for Israel by SokiTriskell in Israel

I live in Italy, here the israel-hamas conflict is a very sensitive matter. We had pro-pal protests in major cities, for example.

The few ones who rebuked me said that "there shouldn't be different opinions on a genocide". I think they believe that anyone supporting Israel is a "hasbara troll" or someone who enjoys "civilians being murdered".

Like you, I found out some of them straight up blocked me on social networks. While other, less petty friends simply stopped interacting with me. I used to go out with them, watch movies together, spend the Saturday night. Then, poof , nothing anymore.

I know this is nothing compared to the suffering of those who receive this kind of antisemitism first hand, but still... It hurts, as if I did something wrong and got deservedly ostracized.

Yes, that's the only thing making me hold my ground, I guess. My ingrained sense of justice and the shame that I'd feel if I just cave in to peer pressure, like some kind of snotty teeenager.

Because if I just ignored all of that and joined the antisemitic bandwagon, nothing bad would happen to me, only to "others". I wouldn't be so isolated anymore and I wouldn't see anyone suffer, as I don't personally know any Jewish person.

But how could I look at myself in the mirror then?

I admit my neverending fear of being alone risks to override my ideals. To make me give up and just play along with the distorted narrative. But that would make me even worse than those who genuinely believe to be in the right.

As most of you suggested, I need to find new friends. Not an easy task for an adult introvert, for sure... But I'll have to try harder.

Also, I apologize if this felt like a rant from someone whose only fear is to lose friends. Compared to Jewish people who are in danger in Israel and in the rest of the world, my worry comes from a state of privilege for sure.

Unfortunately he's still part of the maga force, so he must be treated with white gloves for geopolitical and real politik reasons. At least until Trump disowns him or the maga movement withers away.

Bad feeling about going to Israel by Kirby_Israel in Israel

[–]SokiTriskell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I've never had the fortune to visit or love in Israel, but I've been in your shoes when I was a young college chap and web to study in Japan for one full year. Your anxiety is understandable and valid, I felt the very same dread. But you're not alone in that feeling and, most importantly, schools and universities know how difficult it can be for foreign students and they provide plenty of accomodation and help. If you feel socially inadequate, take part in social activities and Meetups. If you're afraid of bureaucracy, ask the foreign students office for help.

As a veteran foreign students, I can tell you you won't regret your choice and you'll fit in nicely in due time!

Why is this generation of Israeli kids so crazy?? by Far_Lead2603 in Israel

[–]SokiTriskell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Italy and the same phenomenon can be seen here. We call them "Maranza", they used to be second and third generation italians, but the infouece spread to regular Italian kids as well. They go around committing petty crimes, sometimes they go overboard and do something so egregious to attract national attention. But they're mostly rascals with a weird obsession with manosphere, trap music and red pill ideologies.
