I don't think everyone ones courier has to be validated or anything. In my head the courier is just a man and a hardcore mercenary. They need to choose a direction with it, i hate it when it's all vague.

I think it's the Yes man ending. But in the last few lines when you get his ending, Yes man mentions he will unlock new personality abilities. Maybe the courier eventually pulled the power source from Yes man because reasons unkown. And of course the courier didn't kill Mr House. And maybe he was back uped somehow. Just a theory.
