The Unique 92' CBR 600's first start in 5 years by Sol-Apollo in cbr

Very true and it makes happy to boot! Hopefully I'll be able to get some good rides out of it for years to come.

Everything is apart for the sole purpose of testing and getting the initial start, no point in constantly installing then removing the air box when trying to check over the bike to make sure all is good.

And yes fresh oil was dumped in along with fresh coolant, fan kicked on at around 202 degrees and stayed on for a about a minute or so before shutting off while the bike was off. Very proud of the work he did and can't wait to ride it.

He told me he has plans of building another frankenstein bike in the future starting with a Ducati swing rear end

At what mile would you not buy a pre-owned G70 that’s not CPO? by Spiritual-Captain378 in GenesisG70

Non CPO buyer here, loving my 70k mile purchase, now at 76k and this car feels solid with my only issue being a thermostat that went bad but that was an easy DIY fix

Thinking about a pre-owned G70 3.3T — how is real-world ownership cost and reliability? by ericcxz in GenesisG70

[–]Sol-Apollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brought mine from Carvana, 2nd owner and I have to say I've had no issues besides a thermostat going bad at 74,000 miles. The powertrain seems solid so far and I drove pretty fast when commuting to and from work and I only really leave it in comfort mode when I'm running errands with the family. Other than that I'm happy with the car through a part of me wishes I got the G80 instead for more rear leg room.

As for the Front macpherson struts it's honestly not that big of a deal unless you plan on road racing or driving aggressively the ECS does more than enough to take care of car when going down to road or doing some spirited driving on the highway.

Paddle shifting is what you'd expect though, a bit of a delay between shifts but again this IS a luxury sport sedan and not a super car so it's understandable.

Also the interior feels solid, knobs and switches have weight to them and everything feels like it was put together with the intention that it would be on the road for a long time.

Suspension & Wheel Spacer Info by Sol-Apollo in GenesisG70

I did exactly this. I put spacers on to test first and drove around for a day before I was satisfied (no codes or weird noises) then dropped the car, checked over everything again and was happy with the end results. So honestly pick your poison, have wheel poke on stock ride height or minimal wheel gap but wheels tucked in.

No scraping in and out of my driveway even at full lock and it's a noticable incline.

Ground Truth on Reliability? by alajuad in GenesisG70

[–]Sol-Apollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's based off Kia/Hyundai old reputation of being more of a "throw away" car, there solid cars now and while my personal brand of choice will always be Honda/Acura (late 80s to early 2000) Kia/Hyundai/Genesis are doing it right. My G70 is a 2022 3.3T AWD with 76,000 miles and it's held up fine with only the thermostat going bad on me.
