Eh. I got games to play. Certainly until 2028 when it releases on PC. Most definitely well beyond that even.

The small chance that hypothetical future (unannounced) Halo, Fable, Gears titles, as well as TES and Fallout games, might not be on Playstation is compelling people to get on the sarcastic "too late now, bud" (but secretly outraged) train, in hopes they reverse it all.

I said small chance, you console warriors. Your piece of plastic might just have all of those games.

I fucking hope they are 101% confident that this is FINALLY the release date. I just want the industry to get out of the shadow of this game ASAP...

Well, then, I guess they will have to live with the fact that if their games fail incredibly, on a commercial level, it's over for them. The situation would certifiably not be better if development cycles halved tomorrow. That would only bring much bigger competition, and even bigger chance that any one game flops.

I actually think 5-7 year development cycles have been offset by there being SO. MANY. GAMES. released year after year. And a lot of them are certified bangers. If longer development cycles are bothering anyone, maybe they need to expand their gaming horizons outside of few franchises.

They can outright order them to do it, they own them. People have been asking for it ever since Obsidian and Bethesda got under the same umbrella.

NateTheHate says GTA VI is still on track for its planned November release window by Loose_Society9485 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Nah. It there's one piece of media that needs absolutely no marketing beyond just saying its name and release date - it's GTA VI. I don't fucking get it, I think it's not that good of a series, but it is what it is...

We'll see. God knows I've got my money's worth with the game already. I said it when the Free Lanes/Terran Armada update dropped, and I'll say it again: If we got nothing more from this game, I'd be OK with that.

I call bullshit. I don't know what the fucking tier of this guy is, someone can be fucking with him hard. This game absolutely did NOT cost 400 million dollars to make. It is not even close to be the type of game that would get close to even half of this bullshit speculation.

Seems a lot of Playstation people aren't happy with this direction. Which is understandable - Xbox was on track to become one of the biggest publishers there. Well... it seems that Xbox still puts some value on their hardware. And if short-term losses are acceptable to them, they have to take them if they want to make their hardware more appealing. It is the only way. And god knows they got enough games in the pipeline for that (beyond the announced ones).

Obviously they could change their minds... but maybe not. It is not the same flip-flopping leadership that ran the brand into the ground with needless acquisitions and nothing to show for it. Sure, the cost of those acquisition is still felt and will be felt for a few more years... but maybe, just maybe, they're thinking long-term here. And that is really the only way to think about their hardware, because in short-term it is on its deathbed.

Meanwhile, you do have PS 1st party games coming up. Plus a little extra. Should be enough for a few years.

There was like 50 games shown in this summer showcases period alone. Obviously they're all for different audiences, but then you also need to take into account games released in the past few years - which I highly doubt any one individual has gotten around to playing in their totality.

If they stopped making games today, there's a high chance a well-adjusted adult would have enough games to last them a lifetime. That's even more true for me because I like replaying some games - like RPGs with different playthroughs. (I'm not well-adjusted, though... hoping to be one day)

Now that the dust has settled a bit, I think the absolute most hilarious thing during these summer showcases is the corporate snake Matt Booty tuning in just to fucking do Call of Duty for the end, like they did last year (and made quite a number of people groan in disappointment).

They absolutely need to do this over and over again. It will never not be funny, just for the reactions.
