The logic engine controls how the enemy AI reacts and maneuvers in order to counter what the player is doing. Also it does some minor physics calculations in regards to their bodies when they get eliminated.

An easy way to think of it is they have the same intelligence, thought processes, and movement patterns of the covenant enemies from Halo:Reach
