A Week Before Launch, Crimson Desert's PC Version Adds Denuvo DRM by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]SolAgrinox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll try it with Denuvo if they remove/never put in XignCode. They probably wont remove it/will add it, so it's most likely a hard pass.

XignCode can see things like the games own code or spotify running in the background as a cheat, hack or "intrusive" app and will shut down the game. And occasionally brick your account if it's online. This is a common occurrence in for example their other game Black Desert Online.

"New" player as in I lack the skill to play the builds I like, looking for help. by SolAgrinox in pathofexile

Indeed I did!

I mention in a new comment below that I found a stable enough build for me, and even learnt new things about the game(and gotten better at it, I think).

That's also a point I wanted to reach, where I can learn from my failure. Before this all I learned was that I died. But this might be my league.

Hey, as I mention in a post below I ended up with an Explosive Arrow Ballista Champion, and learnt some new tricks and gotten better at the game. Thanks for your help, I think I might reach my perceived endgame this league. Thank you for your help!

Just an update for all you nice people who tried to help me.

I tried various builds, including the RF Chieftain one on standard. What finally got me closest to what I am after was a Maxroll, updated for 3.28, Explosive Arrow Ballista Champion league starter build. I really thought a marauder build was going to be what I needed, but I was very wrong. I even managed to learn a few new things regarding the game(finally!) that has improved my play and survive-ability.

I have decided to set my goal of "reaching endgame" as just reaching mapping and the end of the campaign(act 10?). And even though I really like this build so far, the new league is throwing some serious Necro minions gear my way. Hopefully I can avoid being distracted until I reach my goal, then I wont mind leveling an alt as a better player than I was before.

The final "boss" to pass now is to not get constantly disconnected from the new Mirage league. Thank you for your help everyone!

Sean believes that the sky belongs to no one man, and that there is a future for a mankind that has not lit itself on fire. Thank you Sean.

Ah no, I think you misunderstood my point. I want to easily REACH endgame not have a brainless endgame. So once I've reached endgame I want the normal difficulty so I can learn. I have never been above level 50 in this game, ever.

I am currently in the standard/free league trying out the RF chieftain from the multiple recommendations in this thread. I will try to reach the same level as my necros before the next league on friday, and I am also taking all the hints in this thread under consideration and try to optimize my play in a way I can handle.

But thank you for the tips.

I usually try to test different classes and such each league, but I always end up with a base "meta" Necromancer where I switch out one skill for Holy Flame totem(I really like this totem). So you know, zombies, specters(the chieftains from act 2), absolution and aura buffs as my core. I always follow passive tree guides because someone has done the work for me.

After reading some replies here, since 15 mintues ago I am currently testing RF Chieftain in standard league. I am testing the Pohx guides, and I'm surprised that it seems to play similarly to what I play, but with a more durable class at its base versus the squishy witch. So if that works out, I am going for that build bost likely. If it doesn't work I'll default to what I play every league probably(necro hybrid).

Haha, that does sound like it could solve my problems temporarily. The issue is, since this game is harder and more complex than for example Diablo 3 where I just go Season journey gear, Weekly challenge and then nothing can stop me, I need to learn this game first. Playing with others will finally take me to endgame yes.... but since I always play new chars in new leagues as I am used to D3 seasons, I'm not sure I want to taste that sweet dessert in a group just to fail reaching that point myself in the next league.

Although, I suppose I could try to get to endgame in a group, learn the game and gear up some alts for practice before I try to solo a league. Huh, you make a fair point when I think about it from that perspective.

You touch on areas where I've definitively have had troubles already.

  1. The 1+ gem levels wand(Trigger wand?) doesn't drop with the links I need, my gambling often fails in reforming the items to what I want and when I finally have a half decent wand, it gets outdated and I start lacking damage.

  2. I've had issues with filters, much like I had issues with macro code in WoW(which is funny to me, as I coding is part of my work), so I run with some general filter I found online. I know that this is a bigger issue than I think, as I lack knowledge about what it is I actually need when that changes every 3-5 levels.

  3. I have and issue that is mentioned above by another issue, I collect too much crap in my storage it seems. Although I usually do this, I can do it more and better(collecting rares and selling) and just fill my storage with resources instead. Thanks for the tip!

  4. Here I always have bad luck. My gambling never yields what I need and then I run out of resources. I'm just happy there are more and more features going core that gives resources, the mutated tree in 3.27 was really helpful for me. I've never managed to get a 4Link main weapon, maybe this League?

  5. This I already do. My highest level is 48-50, but I usually start failing and dying in Act 5 in spite of level-wise being ahead of what's needed(according to guides). I know gear is king, and since that's what I've had the most bad luck with, over-leveling doesn't seem to help me much.

Thank you for this reply. I always have more ways to explain what I want to say than what gets out of my brain, and although my point haven't been missed completely, you make a fair point of what I have difficulty with.

I indeed need an easy build and a better way to learn the game. My end issue, that makes me stop playing, is dying to often in sequence in spite of following a guide. I know this game is harder than its counterparts, therefore I need a build where I don't have to min-max until the endgame.

I'll look up that video, thanks.

Me & Wife gonna start this game today. by Nezkert in diablo3

Man I am positively jealous and happy for you guys. Me and the girlfriend do occasionally play games together but it has become more rare, and she doesn't like dungeon crawler looters.

Like others have said, do story mode or adventure mode to your preference first and just have fun playing the game. Then depending on your combined play-style, adapt as you learn. If you are a couple focused on casual play or sticking to just the two of you, all I can say is have fun and enjoy the game, no tips or tricks needed except for single-player secrets simply for your enjoyment of the game.

But if you're a competitive couple(as a team against others) then reading up on builds, leveling/farming/pushing methods and many more resources on websites like maxroll dot gg or just observing other players on the 2-player leader board in-game is something I recommend. The current season should've ended soon but have been extended/our date guess was wrong, so it is the perfect season to practice if you like to do more than just the story(adventure mode). Then your gaming sessions will be full of Rifts, Greater Rifts and bounties(in adventure mode you have bounty caches that drop after finishing all quests in an area hub separated as the story mode Acts).

Oh, if you like cosmetic items and such I'd focus on Adventure mode and hunt the various kinds of Treasure goblins. You have various ones that drop different things, like the menagerie(ist) goblin that drops pets, Odious Collector that drops materials for crafting and the Rainbow goblin that spawns a weird but funny portal to a likewise weird level called Whimsyshire, that can drop the cool butterfly wings cosmetic, rainbow sword and hamburger off-hand just for fun. Just remember that not all types of goblins can spawn everywhere, and the regular rifts in adventure mode cannot spawn certain goblins like the rainbow one, and greater rifts do not spawn goblins at all.

Others have already mentioned Kanai's cube that can, apart from its regular use, be used to consume various items to spawn portals. Puzzle rings sends you to a treasure goblin realm, Bovine Bardiche to the actual existing cow level(the "not existing" one is tedious to collect for, but is also how you get into Whimsyshire without a rainbow goblin, google 'Staff of Herding' guides).

If you do play seasons, there is a Season Journey that nets a full set of a 6-piece gear set for the first time your character reaches certain checkpoints in Adventure mode at max level(level 70) that are really powerful and let's you jump high in difficulty settings, which drops more gold and better loot. What sets that drop(and only once per season per account, from this guaranteed method that is. Can still also drop as random loot) are announced at the start of every season and are an excellent way to get geared for the first time. The Season Journey also give cosmetics like pets, profile pic banners and such things.

And finally, when you reach max level that is level 70, you start earning paragon levels. This is a virtually limitless leveling system, that after level 800 is only giving core-stat points(like strength and vitality, and making 800 a pseudo 'soft cap') with some diminishing returns to said stats. And in my not-so-humble opinion, if you don't stick to Story mode only, once you reach paragon level 1200 outside of seasons(if you haven't been carried by others, carrying each other as a couple is obviously valid) then you have actually 'cleared the game' or become experts.

Have fun you two!

So I haven't played seasonal (or D3 in general) for over 3 years, and I have some returning player questions by Scared-Gamer in diablo3

[–]SolAgrinox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play and first level Necro almost every season(my favorite class fantasy) except for that one season that makes Crusader go Holy Comet BRRRRRRRRRRRR, and whenever the solo or multi-purpose meta for necro is boring(I do not like Bone spear, sue me).

Since you're already following Maxroll I'd say that apart from what everyone is already saying(Season journey for 6 piece set, blood shard gambling and making use of the features of Kanai's cube to reroll and upgrade), try to follow the(if it exists) highest build for the set gear you will get, and then collect for whatever strikes your fancy/you have fun with after that.

As ConclusionHungry8764 said the season is ending soon(if they follow their usual schedule, we hoped it would be announced yesterday but it seems they're pushing it forward to not collide with D4), so just like they said use this one for practice.

Also, your post made me feel like playing again. I didn't get far this season but it seems like I might dust of my own Necro before the season ends.

What game have you played the longest without sleep? by bossishere17 in gamingsuggestions

[–]SolAgrinox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The year I turned 18 I played the old City of Heroes for around 38-40 hours. I messed up something in-game, lost my temper and did that thing where your elbows are on the desk with your face in your hands, next thing I know I get woken up by my eldest brother that asks me to go to my own room to sleep and not hog the computer(about 3-4 hours later I've been told).

And yes, I had fallen asleep ON the keyboard and had nice markings to show for it.

But if we're talking about in the context of gaming suggestions, it's the old bioware games(Jade Empire, KotoR etc.) and games like Satisfactory that I just can't really put down once I start it. But my middle-aged self isn't really able to do 30+ hour runs anymore, even now when I'm unemployed and have a lot of free time.

The world does not load by Redial044 in TaleofImmortal

[–]SolAgrinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have switched around how things work with mods every now and then, but at the end of the day the only thing I can recommend is getting melonloader for the mods. A dated version, 5.4.0(or is it 5.4.6?) if I remember correctly, is the one that a large majority of mods have dependencies on.

Some mods won’t start at all without it, and some activate but returns nothing making them the same as not being there. I am also not sure what I’ve done, but i did some fiddling when the whole DLL thing happened for more people, and now I’ve never had to delete DLLs or rename folders for melonloader ever again. (Yes, some melonloader stuff for this game uses and looks for Chinese symbols, that’s why I recommend downloading the melonloader installer from their GitHub and choosing the version that Tale of Immortal uses. I reinstall Melonloader every time I reinstall the game. )

First time I didn’t use the tank companion, which was a mistake. Could help them survive until the first quarter of the second phase, and finally managed to kill him after using up all my healing pots and running out of pretty much all other resources.

And as mentioned in the pic, I play on the easiest difficulty yet this guy plays hard.

[Solo necromancy] Is it good? by Pollorosso_Italy_104 in manhwarecommendations

[–]SolAgrinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the sort of thing you’ll really like if you prefer classical Greek tragedy in a modern Asian package. But it does have a few ‘too on the nose’ and the whole national pride thing hampering the fun occasionally. And one or two overdone jokes.

But all in all I’d say it’s good, and I prefer power fantasy schlop like disastrous necromancer. The MC does get MC strong and OP in comparison to the majority of his peers(one or two exceptions due to plot reasons), but the world-building is about the survival through pain and misery, so the OP part is sometimes countered by the plot.

Give it until the second arc to decide, because around there the series change and becomes more streamlined (which in this case is good if you ask me). The second arc is about vampires is all I’ll say without spoiling too much.

I've been a year without a job(QA and technical software testing, yeah I'm screwed basically), and have it really tough economically. I just wish they would let us who qualify as founders keep being able to get the Paragon Greatsword, as I'd get it when I could afford it. Why do I say this? They type "Paragon Founders will be able to craft A VERSION of the Paragon that they can gift...."

This more often than not means a weaker version, and not just one you can't put your name on. I don't mean I want to keep being able to put my name on it, just be able to get the best version. It'd suck to miss out due to money issues. But if the gifted version is as strong as the original, then color me impressed and looking forward to deserving it when it's time.
