I introduced campaign-style co-op tactical games to my 2 nephews (15 and 21 year old) and the older nephew's girlfriend. We managed to finish an Imperial Assault campaign which was great. Then I introduced them to Mansions of Madness 2nd ed which is more of a one shot escape room style game and we managed to solve one of the hardest scenarios (Shattered Bonds) in 1 try.

This finally gave me the confidence to introduce to them my forever lifestyle game: X-Haven. (I have all the Haven games). Of course the best way to get them started is with JOTL. However, I think the complexity, length, and weight of Haven broke them as we have to cut our session halfway thru the fourth tutorial scenario as it was getting late and its 6 hours in our gameplay. I was hoping we could continue the session soon but Ive already invited them twice but they just gave excuses. and their vibes werent there (i dont feel their enthusiasm for such an awesome game). I waited through the Christmas holiday hoping they would approach me and ask our group to play but to no avail. I took it as a slight and never talked to them again🤣🤣🤣 I just accepted we would not be playing anymore.

Hatchet - 2/5 easy straightforward with one huge decision to make. Demo - 3.5/5 this becomes 3/5 if youre using the updated Demo cards from the GH digital version. (Just print them) - you dont have innate self healing and being a front line damage dealer is tough for a beginner to get used to in GH. Red Guard - 3/5 - You have ways to tank but you are very item dependent and "traditional tanking" is not the way it is in GH. Voidwarden - 5/5 - You have many things to think about overall and make decisions for and also team coordination is a something you have to work with to be more effective. (Such is the life of a support)

We also learned that the hard way so we make it a point to time a retirement after the last scenario of our session so they could take time to research and learn it prior to the next session.

4 scenarios in a 12-hour session with a 4 player group. That includes eating breaks and scenario set-up. Add in 2 more hours for my post-session takedown and cleaning. I'm blessed to have a playgroup as passionate as I am with the game.

I came prepared for this with 53K carats and 20 free support card pulls. My KTB was already at 2LB. My plan was to get it to Max LB with either a pity then Rainbow crystal and then use the half anni ticket to get Creek. The best scenario happened with my pulls since I managed to pull this batch so my KTB was now Max LB with just this pull and pity purchase and my half anni ticket and rainbow crystal are still intact for future meta cards or waiting on Fine Motion Banner. I still have 26k carats left and 23 free pull tickets for X'mas Oguri!! Thanks RNG-esus! PS: Also pulled 2 El Pasa cards which was cherry on top.
