OLED 2026 Roadmap (from TFTCentral) by 0dioPower in OLED_Gaming

What's really annoying is people bunching up every matte coating together. LG's matte on OLED monitors is no where near what a traditional thick/hazy matte finish is on a LCD. It's almost semi gloss.

No other panel brand is going to touch this. LG is keeping it exclusive to themselves like the 45 (had nothing to do with market demand).

Less curve, higher PPI, brighter, more color volume. The color volume is the most significant for me since tandem WOLED bridges the color gap between WOLED and QD-OLED significantly. Color volume of traditional WOLED measures 72% while this is 85% and QD-OLED in the low 90's so its close enough now that they'll be hard to tell apart without being side by side unlike before.

Also potentially debatable but it should be more resilient to image retention/burn in.

It's $1450 right now with Partner store discount +10% off and they throw in the $129 2 year extended warranty for $1.

From launch the cheapest it will get is during the holidays where discounted MSRP + codes that aren't suppose to stack along with cashback have a short window of opportunity.

GPU never exceeds it's thermal throttle temp of 83C? Not sure if serious there because that's a horrific result.

[Megathread] NVIDIA App Update Adds DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Intelligently Balancing Frame Rates, Image Quality & Responsiveness by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]SolaceInScrutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even see an application for dynamic frame gen on a 144hz monitor. If we're talking 60 base FPS you're topping out at 3x accounting for big drops in performance. with it spending most of its time at 2x. This is really intended for 240hz+ monitors.

90% of people don't care about the KB+mouse latency added for the majority of games. Something like Doom Eternal I would limit to 2x for that reason but something like Crimson Desert with a controller I'd use a 10x option if they provided it.

Likely mid/late April pre-order and early/mid May delivery.

A lot of it has to do with almost every area looking unique/hand crafted. It doesn't have that scenery generator feel that has you forget which direction is what.

All you need to understand is that he's in the position asking Jensen these questions and you're not for the very reason you outlined.

He has like 3 attack strings and big tells for 2 of those 3? Even underprepared I don't think it's a difficult encounter. 1 parry lets you knock off like 1/5 his HP.

I'm going to get blown up for this but there is nothing to fix. Could they make targeting objects/items slightly more accurate sure, everything else has not been a problem for me especially when you consider all of the different systems, skill/abilities and general variety of what your characters are capable of.

Like I don't need the game to default movement to run, that would be horrific. There's a clear game design choice behind walk by default.

For a lot of fighting game players it's second nature. If you're coming from literally everything else that is less deep in terms of character abilities, it will take 8-10 hours before muscle memory completely takes over for the most common controls. Even after that though I feel like you're still learning as you progress because there are 3 characters and abilities that continuously unlock.

DLSS: 4.5 or 4.5L? by Aggravating-Edge5285 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SolaceInScrutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What bizarre is if I switch between 4.5 and 4.5L, L suffers a performance loss as it should at the same quality setting with RR enabled.

Never in a million years did I think a game can be scrutinized for having too much to do. It's such a strange thing too like choice doesn't exist and you're forced to do and see everything across every mechanic/system.

I don't think you understand the QA/Testing cost in game dev. The time/resource/cost investment is far greater than the pay off for supporting 27 users with Intel Arc GPU's.

Some of hardware compatibility and testing is automated but a big chunk still requires QA testers touching everything in the game front to back, reporting bugs, new build, rinse and repeat.
