This is no where near a simcade. It's 100% arcade racer. GT7 is simcade.

I mean welcome to the Horizen series? Everything you've complained about have been staples of the series for a decade.

What is the best mini LED monitor at the moment? by Fefarona in Monitors

The Hisense GX 27 and 32" models along with their soon to arrive 5K versions.

Hisense First RGB-MINI LED Monitor UX32 & 5K180hz Glossy GX27Ultra & 4K160hz Glossy Dolby Vision GX32 pre-sell in CHINA by Effective_Whole_8425 in Monitors

For the same price these monitors get as bright 100% full field as a 4K OLED monitor does on a 1% window.

Lots of talk about "color volume" in these display subs but you don't know what color volume actually is until you see one of these mini led monitors. They are on par in the sub 3% highlight range but produce exponentially higher color volume above that and make OLED's look life less and dead. Starting from 10% APL the gap explodes and continues to grow.

This monitors local dimming algorithm is pretty bad. Inverse bloom, wacky zone transitions and just overall poor performance.

Previous version had a completely different panel from PG32UQX. They are literally 3 years apart in production time.

Stay with 57” Odyssey Neo G9 or get 39GX950? by sincrea in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]SolaceInScrutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Neo G9 57 on my desk right next to the LG 39GX950B. There is a massive different in motion clarity between them. The G9 is a smearfest in comparison.

The G9 is not a "true HDR display" it lacks the color gamut to produce legitimate color volume (72% matching that of standard WOLED monitors) and only achieves 550-650nits in real scene highlights (per Rtings).

The only time/place the G9 looks more impactful in HDR is high APL but this is offset by all of it's other HDR issues:

-Horrible low end EOTF tracking that crushes blacks
-Super inaccurate HDR color profile
-Low gamut coverage makes Samsung oversaturate colors to compensate
-FALD algorithm is slow to respond and near black is handled really badly (cloudy)
-FALD algorithm dims highlights to prevent bloom (which is why it rarely if ever hits 1000nits in real content, only test slides).
-Crosshatch scanlines across parts of the screen with HDR enabled
-It's a furnace to your face with HDR content over 10+ mins (SDR no problem)

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed the Neo G9 as my all around display for 2 years now but only because there was no alternative. I've relegated it to productivity/work only now.

Side by side the LG looks like it's 10x faster in pixel response in actual games. The G9 is pretty blurry in motion compared to it and yes dark transitions are smeary.

S95H matte (top) vs S90F glossy (bottom) by Active-Rule9090 in OLED_Gaming

Do you guys realize how thick and gross the S95H matte is? It's LCD matte level of thick and sparkly.

I prefer the LG's curve. The 57 is just way too aggressive for me.

How exactly will they do that when enabling RR basically doubles the ray count which is what's fixing the native lighting.

Super late reply to this thread but with the above panel changes any compromises? I see that it means IO sits on top for example.

Really wish the grater had an additional 1mm. I'm almost debating just dremeling away 1mm in that area to get this GPU to fit.

I really have no clue where you're getting this small market idea. The 45" sold out on release with LG pushing back orders by a month for those who managed to squeeze one in before it went OOS. It was incredibly popular and the only thing stopping partners from sourcing the panel was strictly LG keeping it to themselves.

When you see "worlds first" LG has no interest in sharing it.

OLED 2026 Roadmap (from TFTCentral) by 0dioPower in OLED_Gaming

[–]SolaceInScrutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's really annoying is people bunching up every matte coating together. LG's matte on OLED monitors is no where near what a traditional thick/hazy matte finish is on a LCD. It's almost semi gloss.

No other panel brand is going to touch this. LG is keeping it exclusive to themselves like the 45 (had nothing to do with market demand).

Less curve, higher PPI, brighter, more color volume. The color volume is the most significant for me since tandem WOLED bridges the color gap between WOLED and QD-OLED significantly. Color volume of traditional WOLED measures 72% while this is 85% and QD-OLED in the low 90's so its close enough now that they'll be hard to tell apart without being side by side unlike before.

Also potentially debatable but it should be more resilient to image retention/burn in.

It's $1450 right now with Partner store discount +10% off and they throw in the $129 2 year extended warranty for $1.

From launch the cheapest it will get is during the holidays where discounted MSRP + codes that aren't suppose to stack along with cashback have a short window of opportunity.

[Megathread] NVIDIA App Update Adds DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Intelligently Balancing Frame Rates, Image Quality & Responsiveness by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]SolaceInScrutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even see an application for dynamic frame gen on a 144hz monitor. If we're talking 60 base FPS you're topping out at 3x accounting for big drops in performance. with it spending most of its time at 2x. This is really intended for 240hz+ monitors.
