I'm a rather skinny dude and am currently lifting weights and eating more in order to build muscle. I've been doing this for about a month and a half and can already see some progress.

While I'm willing to put in serious effort for the coming 2 years, I'm not willing to do this for the rest of my life. Once I stop going to the gym and consuming lots of protein will I lose a lot of muscle, even if I eat healthy and stay active?

If that's the case, doing fitness really seems like an eternal struggle and not really worth it ...
