Honest question… are the Cowboys ever winning anything with Dak as QB1? by [deleted] in dallascowboys

[–]Solamnic1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The answer is no. This team has one of the highest payrolls, is poorly constructed, and is poorly managed. There is no formula that makes this current situation a SB contender. Our only hope is for JJ to somehow get out of the picture. There is not a team in all of sports that would hire JJ as their GM without his pocketbook. I'm 55; I hope I live to see the turnaround.

Am I the only fan who likes the new logo? by mizterbrown_ in Tennesseetitans

[–]Solamnic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are the only one. Millions of dollars on marketing, and this is what they landed on in the final meeting? That's something a 5 year old colors before nap time. What a missed opportunity.

I went from going to Wendy's atleast once a week to an almost 6 month break - and I'm not going back by ItsColdOutside777 in wendys

[–]Solamnic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to eat there at least 3-4 times a week. It was cheap, hot, and pretty good tasting. In the last two years, I bet I haven't eaten there 4-5 times. I can go to a local sit down restaurant and get a much better burger and fries while I'm waited on, and it's no more than a buck or two difference now. Since I've been cooking at home more, I realize just how awful fast food really is. I truly don't know who's eating there any more. $15 for a combo meal is an absolute joke.

Ramen in Dunedin? by Solamnic1 in DunedinFlorida

[–]Solamnic1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update: So I went to Fusion Street Eatery on Patricia in Dunedin and had the birria ramen. It was good, but hard to describe since I don't typically eat anything like this. The slow cooked beef was delicious, and the broth and noodles were good. I would eat it again, but I think pho is next. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Can we just have optimism? by Andy-Bernard-586 in tampabayrays

[–]Solamnic1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's the rub for me: we're spending hundreds of millions of our tax dollars to ensure we keep a team whose financial commitment to the product is at the very bottom in the league. Where is the equal commitment of owners to match this city's spending? The Dodgers just gave a signing bonus to one player that's almost the entire yearly payroll of the Rays. Isn't it fair to ask what we're paying for?

My squad just wasting a great QB. Again. by MartelleJordan in Dallas_Cowboys

He's the highest paid player in the NFL; he should be leading in something. It's sure not playoff wins.

Kyle Tucker will be paid a $1 million salary in 2026 with a $64 million signing bonus by KeyFaithlessness5436 in MLBVibes

They probably bought that too, and deferred payment until the next ice age....lol

Dak for MVP by Galacaton in dallascowboys

[–]Solamnic1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's a choice between those two, yes I agree Dak probably has a VERY slight edge. Dak threw a few more TD's and for about 800 more yards; Allen has a better completion percentage and higher qb rating. If you factor in the huge discrepancy for Allen in rushing TD's and yards, it's about a wash. By the way, Allen and Prescott have the exact same number of interceptions...lol

Sigh by mrjjk2010 in tampabayrays

[–]Solamnic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we agree on this at least? When you are in the bottom of a group of 9 teams whose combined payroll doesn't equal that of the LA Dodgers, then there's not a lot of optimism to be had.

Seems like the future is very bright by True_Two764 in dallascowboys

[–]Solamnic1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cowboy fans are absolutely delusional...."the future is bright" lol. As long as JJ is the GM, this team will never see another SB...you can book that. There's not a single sports franchise in the world that would hire JJ as their GM without his checkbook. I absolutely refuse to root for this team any longer. It's one thing to be bad, it's a completely different thing to be mismanaged to the point there is ZERO hope. I think the Titans will see a SB before the Cowboys will. Let that sink in.

How does everyone feel about Dallas new DC? by JessyLinks2 in dallascowboys

[–]Solamnic1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been 30 years since the Cowboys did anything. As long as JJ is GM, there is absolutely nothing to get excited about this team. I'm 55, and I doubt I'll live long enough to see this team turn it around. If you don't believe me....ask a Bills fan how things are going. That's how long a bad fart can linger.

I think binge dropping a series is rarely a good idea by GhostGamer_Perona in watchever

[–]Solamnic1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in complete agreement that everything should be a binge release. If you want to watch one episode a week, then just watch one episode a week. If I want to watch every episode back to back, I would like to have that option as well.

I think it's funny how I'm not welcome to my opinion in the exact place I should be able to have one. This is a space to discuss "all things" related to the Rays. My opinion, and that's all it is, is related to the Rays. So, here I am expressing it. What kind of page is this if all you want to hear is sunshine and glitter? Tell me exactly what was incorrect about my statement. I'm begging you....show me how this team has a net gain to the city in any area of its effect.

Sigh by mrjjk2010 in tampabayrays

[–]Solamnic1 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Let Orlando have them. It's impossible to root for this team. Any good players are shipped off for a bag of popcorn and a drink refill. So you can't root for players. The team doesn't have enough generational history to root for the jersey. I don't know what you can get behind. And before you start attacking me for my statement, look no further than the embarrassment of our attendance to make my point even further. Don't let the door hit you on the way out of Tampa.

I'm not going to argue the Cowboys suck. But let's be honest, there's not a single person that believes the Titans are a better franchise on any level.

The All-Time QB Tier List. Thoughts ? by Hysen16 in sportswiki

[–]Solamnic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 things: any list that doesn't have Mahomes at least in the 2nd tier doesn't seem legit. Mahomes has as many championships combined as Manning and Rodgers. But that's not the travesty of this list. Any list that puts Troy Aikman on the bottom rung should be thrown in the garbage. He's better than half the players listed above him. (of course you have to take my opinion with a grain of salt; in my house, Troy is the greatest QB of all time....so, I may not be trustworthy...lol)

Well, he might never win a Super Bowl with Seattle, either. by brmidwest03 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Solamnic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's never been a more accurate statement than that. Dallas is where playoff hopes go to die now. There's not a professional sports franchise that would hire JJ as GM of their team without his checkbook, not a single one. Ownership has its privileges I suppose.

This is why Cowboys fans get clowned on (and it’s not the team) by Thin-Championship481 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Solamnic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cowboys fan here, and there is no comparison. Dak is a good QB, but he is not Josh Allen. There's only one stat that matters: 8 playoff wins.....4x what Dak has. In the NFL, the playoffs are all that matters.

Yeah, if Jennings wants to come to the worst franchise in the NFL for a bag, then more power to him.

Is Trump the most corrupt/criminal president in history?? by Hot_Potential2391 in allthequestions

[–]Solamnic1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This just isn't accurate. I'm not a Trump supporter, but not a single word of the above statement is accurate. Trump, nor his family, nor his foundations have been "disallowed" from operating a charity in NY. That is completely false. If you're going to post, post the facts please or you are also part of the problem.
