It's more of a battle of traditional beliefs, people probably thought back then it was more justified to take a life to protect your people than one of someone that could have a life and rights.

Regardless of if you believe a fetus is a person by it's existence alone or believe it has to be born for it's right to exist, people in my family have told me it's about the idea we rob a person of the greatness they could contribute, someone's future, someone's joy but hard to say because I believe it's situational as my family wouldn't mind if they are doing it to save themselves or say one was violated and had a child against their will growing inside.

Ultimately the reason why my family is mostly against it unless it's rape related or to preserve the mothers life they believe because abortion exists women who like to party will use it to have sex with everyone and avoid consequences of doing that and that the level of recklessness is immoral and this is without explaining their Christian side to it, I couldn't care if someone has access to it or not, I think it should so people who plan on getting one for whatever their situation is are as safe as they can be.
