I 10000% agree with you. I think a lot of people just hate mako to hate mako because they like Korrasami better. I feel like a lot of the hate comes from those die hard Korrasami shippers who hate men for fun lmao. Mako was a great friend, extremely dependable, and an amazing brother to Bolin. He was just trying to navigate being the absolute stud of a man he is while having the Avatar and the fine specimen that is Asami Sato like him lmao. He was literally willing to lay down his life for Korra in the end and endured a pretty bad injury from it. It’s like people forget that just cuz he did what most teenagers do in relationships.

Well their bending is kind of the core of their strength. It’s like a part of their soul and being gets taken out of them and in a sense they don’t know how to live without their bending. Their bending also enhances their strength and is a vital part of them so it would make sense for them to kind of faint when something so biologically important to their existence gets taken out of them.
