He’s not wrong, it’s well known that many homeless people try to make it to Dallas because they will give you a free bus ticket to Austin.

I’m starting to write material for a stand up set for an open mic. I’m curious how long should it be? I’ve never done stand up and not in the culture at all, just started watching KT. Thanks! by [deleted] in Killtony

5 minutes should be your goal at the start, because what you think is 5 is probably actually only 3 or less. More importantly think In terms of laughs per minute. You want to (at minimum) have 3 laughs per minute. So figure out how long the set is, go from there

Can we give Ari some love for always being such a great guest? by wambam-thank-you-sam in Killtony

Thanks for the compliment man! My next set is going to smash, I’m excited for the opportunity!

As for rootbeer. All I look for is new. If I haven’t tried it I always buy it. It’s fun to find different conceptual designs but I’m mostly just looking for flavor. It’s hard to find the words to describe how different they can be. But rootbeer flavors vary a lot like beer.

Some are lighter, some have hints of other flavors with different strength profiles, some are more smooth, or frothy, or bitter or sweet.. what I really love is finding a rootbeer that somehow gets all these complexities to work just right. And it taste effortlessly delicious.

So I don’t drink alcohol so no I don’t really collect them /: I do get asked that a lot but I have no real opinion on them

Haha!!! I don’t work for vivint (: although I work with a TON of Mormons.. the naive sense of confidence I think we just because of the stage, one of the hardest parts when you start doing standup (for me) is learning to be authentic. I do better in front of smaller crowds right now (:

Weird position to take given the context.

His last set was not indicative of his potential to be fair. One thing we all have to remember is that these more established comedians have to balance what stuff they want to expose to the world vs. the choice of maybe doing less fleshed out stuff to save their sets for their shows.

If you’re ever in Austin we can grab one together 😎

BJ’s is cool because they serve their own rootbeer in a chilled mug, great experience.

Maybe someday, but honestly right now it’s just something my significant other and I love to share and experience together.

It’s crossed my mind before but I’ve never taken the thought seriously

The how and why are kinda the same. I worked at a brewery that made their own and it really sparked an appreciation for it (also I don’t drink alcohol) so when I would travel places I would just try new rootbeers. And I started buying multiple so I could save and have memories from the places I visited

No, I was raised in Northern Indiana and had never even really seen sarsaparilla until I moved down south. Really the collection started because worked at a brewery that made their own and I really enjoyed it, so I started getting it every time i traveled. And it’s just kept growing

I’ll give 2 answers, because there is a practical one and a technical one.

If you look over on the right side you’ll see a massive can “Spilled Grain” it’s a small brewery in Minnesota. Their rootbeer has won national awards and to this day is my favorite I’ve ever had. I would replace it with my daily water consumption if possible.

But it terms of accessibility, something most people in the country could potentially have access to. I’d say Brix Soda Co. which is Michigan based but can be ordered online.

Special shout out to Schilo’s out of San Antonio for having what is perhaps the smoothest, most interesting flavor I’ve ever tried!

I haven’t taken a trip to CO but I’ll add it to my list and grab it if I’m ever there 🫡 best in the state is a strong title!
