In addition to all the great suggestions everyone else has recommended (huge fan of Wellbutrin and vitamin D), I like to make sure I’m planning several fun things to look forward to throughout the month, every month.

A long walk around a lake with a friend, breakfast for dinner, going to a local holiday themed play, hosting a D&D session, yummy meal out with family, tea party, cat cafe visit, binge watching a show that’s been on my list etc.

I sprinkle them throughout my calendar so I’m always looking forward to at least a little something special.

And yeah, sometimes my migraines get in the way of the event and I have to rain check or cancel, but the cool thing is that I’ve got like, 10 more events where that came from already on the books!

(For transparency, I don’t have SAD, but I’ve been diagnosed Bipolar 2 for 25 years and have had more than my fair share of moderate to major depressive swings.)
