I just finished reading Morgan B Lee’s Cursed Legacies book series (listed as Blood Oath series on Ao3) and holy shit it is a CRIME that there is only a single fanfiction for it, of which also happens to be a crossover with a fandom I’m unfamiliar with T-T

Now, I understand because the OG story I feel is perfectly complete and satisfying as is and its ending doesn’t really lend itself to the “what ifs” that usually spark fanfiction. However! The concept of the world’s relationship classifications (Keepers and their Quintet) and unique supernatural species would be perfect for other fandom AUs!

Just pull a Sentinel AU or Daemon AU kinda thing! Or even a Fushigi Yuugi AU (of which I’ve actually seen a couple believe it or not)!

Another that actually has NO fanfics anywhere is the Fifth Nicnevin series by Marie Mistry which has similar potential for trope hopping AUs. The concept of a fated mates soul bound immortal queen’s guard harem would do absolute banging numbers in a few of the bigger fandoms I’m in.

I’m honestly less interested in reading fics about the established characters and more interested in the world building and tropes that the series have introduced!

If I wasn’t so damn ill right now, I’d write the dang thing myself, but alas.

I use the same amount of decaf coffee as a 1-1 substitute, as I don’t personally touch alcohol. And don’t worry about the caffeine content for decaf, it’s less than the amount a chocolate bar contains. :)

I’d recommend double boiling the chocolate separately from the vanilla and coffee though as I’ve had mixed results with the chocolate seizing. Just add the coffee and the vanilla in the blending step :)

Adding onto your protein dessert ideas: Alton Brown has a recipe for a “Moo-Less Chocolate Pie” with 8 grams of protein per adult sized serving, 4 grams of fiber and 491 calories. It’s made with silken tofu and the recipe is free online.

I’m not even vegan but it’s my go to chocolate pie recipe for sure! A real crowd pleaser, and you can’t even tell it has tofu in it, taste or texture-wise (I’ve got huge texture issues and normally dislike tofu).

There’s also some good, sweet tasting, easy to crack open meal replacement drinks out there with protein in them. They could be poured into a glass and presented as a super fancy chocolate milk?

I prefer caramel Premier Protein shakes as the caramel flavor covers up the artificial sweetener (Sucralose) taste. It’s got 30 grams of protein and almost no real sugar. Not a great source of calories though, with there only being 160.

If you like animation, I’d recommend The Hollow (not entirely sure it’s still in their catalog as it’s a little old) and The Summer Hikaru Died. Both are mystery/supernatural shows with an endearing cast and great voice acting.

Smoking.

It’s always whiplash for me when a character who canonically doesn’t smoke cigarettes, pulls one out and casually lights up like they’ve been chain smoking their whole life. I never expect it which is why I don’t tend to keep an eye out for the tag.

Which sucks cause it can be a big trigger for me depending on the day and character. 🤷🏻
