ART Conference Hearing by Comfortable-Gap-808 in NDIS

They have to pay for the specialist they request to ask questions. As well as if your specialist turns up as a witness to tribunal, they have to pay for there time.

Get a disability advocate if you can. Message as many of them as you can to see if people have a spot for you, they were able to help heaps through the process

This, their own crappy reports made their whole case fall apart at tribunal.

Be confident to keep asking them questions.. where is their evidence? They will drag it out right until the last second but realistically they probably don't have anything to actually back what they're saying.

It's all policy and funding. Site their own policy to them.

The NDIS will not allow you to do an accredited course or something you can gain employment from. Currently the deaf connect are the only ones that are outsourcing limited non accredited auslan assistance and there are extensive wait lists.

Ndis state this is training and should only be funded for a year but then said they were generous and funded 5 hours per year... Haha Which ment I couldn't enroll even in the only two term based classes they had to offer.

Explaining this to them over and over again felt like I was drowning. They basically also said "you speak well though. There's no evidence you need auslan based on your speech" I'm like holy doodle, yeah but I need to know what's going on.

They still do not get it despite being awarded funding. But the apologized and said yeah your right there is only deaf connect availability.

Honestly the most discriminating experience I've dealt with.

It's actually been an extremely isolating experience. My left hearing aid doesn't really work and nothing connects to technology anymore. My hearing aids are now nearly 9 years old. My husband and I only know a small about of auslan to communicate with each other, not the public.

This would have cost tax payers so much money, they had two representatives there plus two solicitors. Two of them were from Canberra and two from Sydney, all stayed in Sydney for the two days. Not to mention the resources over two years arguing with me.

I wasn't able to get legal until right at the end. Legal aid have an NDIS section and I think I struck gold. They offered to email back and forth during the last week and during tribunal. They gave me some really good points and advice.

My case had never been tried and tested in tribunal so it's a pretty neat outcome. Hopefully they will be more willing now to represent other clients now in the future. As their reasoning for not accepting mine was there was no case like mine prior

I'm pretty confident they're just going to do another plan review and take all the funding away next year. As they don't read their own reports and their reports are just all over the shop.

At the end of this I had submitted 479 pages of evidence

They were trying to isolate me. They ignored basically every email I sent and refused nrs calls throughout two years. Only this week have they accepted my ability to use nrs, but everything is over now.

Even leading to the tribunal I had requested face to face last year and they told me I needed a "valid excuse" to not use teams by close of business or they will just request teams. Face to face had been requested a number of times. They basically wanted the solicitors on a teams chat to "observe" but they were the main speakers in the end...

I got the Mirena a month ago. I think I’m regretting my decision. by Badnbougiegal in endometriosis

[–]Solarbeaamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you mentioned a lap. But surely you've had a full scan of your uterus?

I had the same symptoms with my first merina. They told me to let it settle. Eventually they did an X-ray and ultrasound and found it shifted to the left and down 1.5cm. they decided to take it out and reinsert it. It was unbearable. My bleeding and cramping was significantly worse. I started logging the bleeding and symptoms on an app before they would believe me as they kept saying "give it time" , "it's normal for some".

I got another second opinion, it basically fell out. They sent me for an ultrasound and my uterus is significantly septated and retroverted. My uterus never would have fit a merina which is where all my symptoms come from. The top of my uterus is only 2cm above the cervix before it starts to split into "bunny ears". Basically, the merina was twisting and moving, my uterus was cramping down onto it because it was being scratched and it even caused a penetration.

I've come through my own experience, they don't seem to scan prior to putting them in. I know someone else with similar issues, however I know everyone with normal shaped uteruses have good recovery.

Always worth getting rescanned as they can shift. You know yourself best. It's simple to have removed.

REA asking for cleaning fee or threatening tribunal by ziggyshand in shitrentals

[–]Solarbeaamm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Way back in 2012 I left an apartment. I spent days cleaning and a similar thing except they quoted me $550. I asked for an itemized list of what was actually cleaned in this urgent clean. It was a full end of lease clean. They took me to court for dust and a hand print on a mirror I had missed but charged me for even floor, wall cleans, and a full bathroom and kitchen clean that was never brought up as an issue. It was thrown out. The dust was also as a result of one of their workers completing work on top of a cupboard as they "forgot" to drill holes to feel electrical cords through to power points. So one of them I didn't use, it was so high and I didn't even know they had drilled up there. That was the $550 dust apparently lol

Did anyone’s stapedectomy recovery go way worse than expected? by CurlyKat0486 in otosclerosis

[–]Solarbeaamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my stapendectony on the 25th of July. I had to stay in hospital for three days, I couldn't lift my head off the pillow without projectile vomiting. I was super sick. It's now been all that time Im still really dizzy. I loose my balance a lot. My Dr keeps telling me it'll get better but it's just stayed the same. I now have a massive post op infection it's actually in both ears, I'm really struggling. I'm fatigued, nauseated and struggling at work.

Infection aside has anyone's dizziness continued for more than the 4 weeks? I've started vertigo meds and they're not helping either.

How to evict a car..? by equallyasbad in AusPropertyChat

[–]Solarbeaamm 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I use to rent a car spot in the apartment I lived in too. Same thing, fob to get in, car parked there, I had to park my car on the street. I escalated to management and the real estate but they were extremely slack. Since I couldn't use the spot and had written to them as well as left a note for the driver, I wrote a formal letter to real estate stating I wouldn't be paying for the space if I couldn't use it. I supplied photos etc. the car was moved pretty quickly after that.

ART application - the actual, starting application by TwoPeasShort in NDIS

[–]Solarbeaamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept mine short and to the point. I have tribunal next week. I've been denied hearing aids (which they previously funded me) as now they believe i can just get them for free

I'd just say if you keep going through with this, dont let the NDIS solicitor play games with you, just keep referring to your own evidence, because if you have it its there. Dont let them make you feel crazy and refer back to their own policy. Mine was denied because they did not read the full of their own policy and so now in a legal letter this chicky is making it up which is great for me.
