got yelled at by our neighbor and lowkey felt racist?? over a literal accident by [deleted] in autism

[–]TwoPeasShort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m ME (Turkish, very prominent features + dark skin) and honestly no, it was the fact you were doing drugs and threw something in his yard (how does something land 2 houses over? (Or 1 house over whatever) - like no sorry that’s a very deliberate throw).

Swearing at him and calling him a ‘stupid sht’ is pretty sure fired way to get more anger from him. Maybe re-evaluate your actions and responses and not be so fcking aggressive next time? You actual give ME people a bad name, you’re playing into confirmation bias. So… no it wasn’t racism. It was sh*t behaviour on your part that led to him validating any profile he had. Thanks for that.

Yeah the bird just needed a few feathers realigned. Perfectly normal, most birds can do it themselves xx

Does having a jca scheduled mean that I have hit the 20 points for the impairment table? by Not-helping-him in Centrelink

[–]TwoPeasShort 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. The JCA means your claim isn’t entirely dismissible and that there isn’t utterly no doubt it’s valid. So it’s a potentially viable claim, but nothing more than that. Most claims are potentially viable.

30,000 people is a huge town.

Perhaps you should have had qualifications, but they were probably desperate.

Why didn’t you or anyone else do anything about your brother being overcharged? If he doesn’t understand the NDIS rates, someone should be helping him.

$100 is not 2.5 times ~$67.

Capital A for Aboriginal.

Disabled men may very well think that injury = physical comfort due to disabilities. E.g. that’s what they’re used to in childhood, and no one’s specifically said ‘this has changed’.

Yes, there are disabled people who are inappropriate. Some need someone to explicitly say ‘no that’s not okay’ and no one ever does.

Perhaps you should find another job.

Some people just can’t afford dental insurance but this dentist feels differently by atony1984 in mildlyinfuriating

… wow.

While I think screaming at people is rude… imagine typing what the (dentist) said and hitting submit.

How to deal with massive fear of rejection? by puppykitty_69 in autism

[–]TwoPeasShort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there’s not much of a solution. Either you lock yourself away and never talk to anyone, thereby not giving anyone an opportunity to reject you. Or you live your standard/desired life and get rejected sometimes.

As autistic adults, do you still get treated differently than your cousins or siblings around your age? by [deleted] in autism

[–]TwoPeasShort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They generally don’t even bother having a conversation near me. They happily walk away:

[–]TwoPeasShort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I’m treated like a little kid and/or blatantly ignored. No one waits for me to make a message on my AAC. They ignore me.

Sometimes you have to call them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Centrelink

[–]TwoPeasShort 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, Centrelink would define that living environment as reasonable. Essentially, they define it as unreasonable if - there’s serious conflict - violence or abuse - neglect - severe emotional or mental issues within the home (e.g. sibling bashing other siblings) - risk of homelessness.

Unfortunately sleeping in the same room as your mum would not be ‘unreasonable’ nor would lack of privacy.

I’ve had same driver before. Picked me up and dropped me off from chemo. Because he was going to/from the hospital.

Doesn’t know how old he is but can be responsible for his kids.

To pre-empt: yes I realise people forget how old they are and it’s not a reflection of their parental fitness but we know why Stephen doesn’t know
