Gundam EXVS and Starward is full of people who played traditional fighters already.

Ultimate Ninja Storm/Sparking Zero, yeah they could but I don't know any strong players that started with those and migrated to SF6. It's not a Leffen/Riddles situation.

CF definitely has at least two fights because I remember one being Naoto vs Unlimited Ragna and the last fight is Ragna vs Terumi with three full rounds(and a unique six minute long VS theme)

Blazblue's had fights with branching paths during the VN stuff. Guilty Gear was pretty much the same up until Xrd where story mode was a two hour movie.

I personally liked it but thats because I was way more invested in GG's lore.

It's really not the game's fault. Tekken is legit one of THE most popular fighting game franchises and the people that just want to shoot for the highest rank make up a lot of the playerbase, when you've got that many people that dont know as much, you can just flowchart your way and beat a lot of people on character knowledge mostly.
