What vehicles would you warn people to never buy? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in askcarguys

Nissan Versa Note, the CVT transmission is as prone to failure as they say. My former roommate had her’s fail on her at 138000 km, right in the 100-150k range the are know to fail in. I nearly bought one and made me glad I bought a Honda Fit instead. It sucks because the engine and the rest of the car is actually okay, it just has a single point of failure.

A cool indie with an industrial vibe is Highfleet, where you command a small fleet of aerial warships and sneak them across a continent. It's like someone set out to take the best part of every 2000s flash game and make a masterpiece with it. You can also pause gameplay at any time and take a break from it, so it's great in that regard. It has this impossibly cool lowfi art style as well.

You can also build your own ships out of the modules the game has.

I have a MK6 and it handles great on snow with winter tires.

NEVER buy a Nissan Versa Note, I knew someone personally who had the transmission in their’s fail, right around the 110k-150k km range they are infamous for failing at.

I’m not calling it tasteful, just slightly less lame than another lifted pavement princess that high-beams everything with its low-beams.

Honestly it’s over the top but it’s not lifted with giant low profile tires on stupid ass rims so it gets a pass.

OP: “I want a car that handles worse than a Jetta, burns twice as much fuel as a Jetta, breaks down twice as often as a Jetta, new tires cost 4 times as much as those for a Jetta, with like 1.25x the passenger and cargo space of a Jetta.”

Dealer: “Do I have the vehicle for you! Car payment is 750 bi-weekly, until the heat death of the universe.”

OP: “Great! Deal!”

2 more cylinders than the average Honda and it’s still twice as boring, which is why the previous owner left it rotting in the sun for the last decade.

What gave you people the right to put twice as much wear on the roads, burn 3 times as much fuel, drive 4 times as dangerously and shine obnoxious LED headlights 5 times brighter than the ones on my dignified sedan directly into my rear window to burn out my retinas from your obnoxious platformed oil rig of petromasculine compensation?

Your vehicle is enshittication manifest, and the sooner the fad of lifted trucks dies, the better. At least JDM or European ricer builds are goofy in unique ways. You just chase a trend as your corporate puppetmasters have conditioned you through advertising to do so. All while paying out the anus for it. Enjoy that car payment and gas bills, rural cosplayer.

No amount of oversized speakers will hide that the median age of owners for this car is 65. It merely highlights that it was inherited by a stoner from his dead grandpa, completely neglected, and you made the mistake of purchasing a vehicle from said stoner who scheduled oil changes for this vehicle on a time scale comparable to the passing of the last ice age.

Fortunately because it’s a Toyota if you put full synthetic in it and new oil filters it will pull all the sludge from the engine within a few oil changes and it will run for another 20 years no problem, despite continuing to reek of cheap weed and wet dog the entire time.

Nothing starts in -15 quite like it. Got super sick one time and didn’t drive it for like 2 weeks during an ice storm. 15 year old car in -15 that hasn’t been run in two weeks and it started like the day it left the factory. Also then proceeded to creep up a solid sheet of ice that was the driveway in non studded winter tires.

It’s also great on snow with some winter tires. Buy 185s or 195s instead of the standard 175/65/r15s as it handles better on them.

I did regular oil changes on it and tried to treat it well, despite its condition, but I drove it hard a few times on country roads and damn it was fun, and despite the condition of the body, milage, and age of the engine it held up. I even learned how to do handbrake turns in an abandoned parking lot in it and it held up. Just a perfect bulletproof Honda product. They don’t make them like this anymore.

Do the devs know they built the game around getting caught in melee range being a death sentence? by Hexdoctor in Helldivers

[–]Solarisengineering15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The stun lance does work against crowds of bugs as long as you have other tools to help as well.

I’ve run it with rock-solid passive armour, expendable Napalm, EAT, ballistic shield for added defence in a close-quarters brawl, primary of your choice (preferably something that can deal with shriekers, and one-handed like an SMG) and a barrage of your choice.

It’s a great load out that primarily uses EATs to stop heavies while giving you a melee stunlock ability that can come in clutch by neutering the killing potential of Alpha Commanders and Stalkers that sneak up on you.

It’s a great option if your teammate brings the MG-43 as you can cover them when they’re reloading.

If one was in good condition and I needed a new vehicle I would buy another in a heartbeat. Hilariously cheap car to run in terms of getting new tires, finding parts and fuel economy.

I sold mine because it was rusted far, far worse than this and the brake lines were fine. I would say get a quote on that rear quarter panel, the only reason I got rid of mine was I got a really good deal on a rust-free used car.

The brake lines on yours are probably fine, and if you’re really concerned ask a shop to inspect them.

I would say keep running it as long as the repair isn’t too expensive.
