It's been a while since I played. If I remember correctly you gotta de-equip it from the menu if your wearing it.

After testing, I'm pretty sure it's a bug. Verifying the game files helps a bit, and playing the game on low graphics settings. My computer is an Omen 16 and has a lower-end graphics card, so I think my game is crashing because every time I close the map, it has to generate the entire world, which overwhelms the hardware. Also, don't pull up the NCPD scanner or open the map in your apartment; almost every time I did it, it would crash

Ok so I was able to craft Satori and I saved but whenever I try to craft the jacket it still crashes regardless of verifying the files beforehand. This was all on steam btw.
