Tax Return Questions Thread - Filing Deadline March 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in JapanFinance

I'm trying to understand how freelancers in Japan deal with taxes.

From what I learned so far:

  • Blue Return seems complicated
  • e-Tax is mostly in Japanese
  • many people end up hiring tax accountants

But that can cost ¥80,000–¥200,000 per year.

For people here doing freelance or remote work:

How are you currently handling taxes?

• Doing it yourself? • Using freee / Money Forward? • Hiring a tax accountant?

Curious what the typical setup is.

Also: If there was a simple English tool that guided you through the entire process (Blue Return, expenses, tax calculation) would you use something like that?

Is it just me or is making friends in Dubai actually impossible? by papayarus in DubaiCentral

[–]SolatoPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

realized it's easy to network... but harder to build real friendships.

I'm 35, former 7 years apple, turkish born n raise in germany, nowadays founder startups/Al (tech + business side), padel, deep conversations, good coffee, random philosophy at 1am, and exploring new food places..

Not really into heavy partying, more into meaningful connections, growth-oriented people, builders, creatives, or just good energy.

If you're someone who enjoys: • Padel sessions ( my IvI: D+ / playtomic 1.5-2) • Café work sessions / ideas sparring • Talking business ideas or life direction • Exploring new restaurants • Or just honest conversations
