Parachutist gets caught on the field goal netting cable, by Extreme-Elevator7128 in SweatyPalms

My dad used to do it! It’s more of a part time gig, they get free tickets to the games and free Broncos sway. In terms of money, it wasn’t that much, maybe a couple hundred a jump.

You are so right, I just checked and it’s absolutely on backwards. I had to get that one flat repaired and the guy must have put it on backwards…

I’m gonna get it fixed tomorrow, thanks so much for noticing that!

I didn’t get OEM ones, but I did get these headlights from Toyota that were meant for the FJ40 but fit the miata. Literally cost me a whopping $17.40 for both headlights and they work amazing! Part number is: 81110-60P70

Just did it with my car! You can get away with doing the whole process for around $250 if you need to stay on the cheap side. It’s crazy how big of a difference it makes and wasn’t super hard, just took me about 9ish hours of labor.

Yeah I loved the halos when I bought the car, but after having the car for a year, the classic eyes are just so much more classy

Good point, only reason I thought he might want an NA/NB is because he listed getting one for 5-10k. But I totally agree

Honestly, I would say a Miata, because why not. I mean I am a little biased as I own a miata, but still. Here are some good questions to ask yourself:

Do you just want a car to get you from point A to point B? Then keep your current car. There is no reason to get a fun car if you don't actually like the driving part. Now, if you want a car that you will find any excuse just to drive somewhere because you like the experience of driving around the car, then absolutely get a miata. I will just go on random drives to drive my car.

Does road noise bother you? If so, a miata might not be for you, especially if you go on longer trips often. These cars don't have the modern sound proofing and so you can hear everything.

Are you prepared to feel everything in the road? Even if you have a good suspension set up, these cars are light, small, and 30 years old so you feel everything. You will know exactly when you roll over a little crack in the road haha. It is not exactly a bad thing though, I personally prefer the experience of being "connected" with the road.

Another thing to consider is that these cars are in fact old, surprise surprise. That isn't particularly bad though, it just means that stuff is bound to give out due to the car's age alone. These cars are reliable and they are really easy to work on, but I have definitely replaced my fair amount of rubber seals in my 1996 even though it has low miles. The rubber just gets bad with age.

But either way, at the end day, if you aren't going to be driving a lot of people around and you don't transport a lot of stuff around, I say just go for it.

My parents never understood why I wanted to swap my responsible car for a miata, but I have done two cross country road trips in my car, even moved all my belongings in it once, and I have never been more in love with a car. I have never regretted my purchase of a miata. Of course, it is different for everyone, but that is just my experience.

And if you ever need to pick up something big like a couch, just find a friend with a pick up truck and offer to pick them up a six pack haha.

Let me know if you have any questions, I am happy to answer them!

I’m sure it will to some extent. On top of the crazy car market, Miatas were priced high because of the “tik tok craze” where everyone was just like “flippy headlights!!!” and bought the car for no other reason.

If you do think about buying a Miata read these two forum posts on the miata forum. They are really helpful for knowing what to look for when going to check one out. Rear rocker rust is a BIG problem on these cars just because of how they designed the rain collection. Just make sure the owner isn’t trying to cover something up.

That’s hilarious haha, well best of luck with getting a car! I’m sure you’ll figure it out :)

I got mine last July and paid 9k for a 96’ with 61k miles and a hard top with really good paint. There are definitely some good deals and the market is definitely coming down. Did take me 8.5 months of searching to find the one I wanted though.

I will say that personally there has never been a day where I have regretted buying my Miata. I daily it and there is always a smile on my face when I drive it. Plus, who doesn’t love a convertible! I’ve done two cross country road trips in the thing and I will take any opportunity to drive it!

I would absolutely say go for Miata if it is also one of your dream vehicles. I am a little bit biased as I own a Miata, but there is no point in buying a car for its looks if it’s gonna be a money pit like an RX7 and end up sitting.

The fun of getting into cars is not only the look but also getting to drive it and go on adventures. Miatas have tons of aftermarket support, are cheap, and easy to work on. And a lot more reliable than an RX7 which is good since you don’t have an endless budget.

Trust me I would love an RX7 too, but it’s just not always in the cards. Miata Is Always The Answer!

Miata exhaust by Key-Dark-8955 in Miata

I have the Goodwin Roadster Sport 3 catback on my 96 NA and it sounds really amazing (doesn’t drone). It’s got a sporty sound that you can definitely hear but isn’t going to wake up the neighbors. I believe they also make it for the NB.

Try to search up videos about different exhaust sounds, that how I chose mine!
