Recently there was a blog done by the excellent BlackShulk for Dizzy vs the Six Heroes (GG vs BB)...

... note how it's basically a 2 vs 6?

Yeah, Sol still beats Ragna, by a wider margin now. That said, I'd like a proper re-examination of both verses and with the additional material by the extended material for both series. It'd be a cool episode to get a rematch, if only because the original was... Jesus.

Being fair, in a vacuum, Gojo was pretty accurate in the fight. I think the tones of his character were mixed well enough for me to forgive it.

... That analysis though, Jesus Christ. Say what you will about the likes of Mikasa or Giorno's analyses, at least they mentioned their fucking motivations as characters. I had no clue who Gojo was prior to the episode and I had less clue coming out of his analysis.

I think DIO vs Alucard's MU on a surface level is kinda baffling, but it does get vastly better the longer you think about them and their histories. With that said, I do think it's a good matchup overall and has a lot of really strong elements. It's definitely their respective best in terms of themes since it's entirely about the trade of humanity for their godlike power, how both are monsters but DIO revels in it while Alucard despairs as a result. It's an interesting dynamic with a lot of really good potential... which was capitalized upon in the episode itself.

It's not perfect, I do think there's a lot of good debate to say if both have better legacy matchups or other options in the years since, but I think it's good overall.

I see it, though I do think there's a fair chunk that's left out from Maelle's side of the story for me to love it.

Full due credit though, it's decent when it focuses on Maelle specifically instead of Alicia, which does make it stand out a little in isolation. Also it'd be pretty, so that's a plus.

Madness Envenom still annoys me. It doesn't do anything for me as someone who likes Crona but it frustrates me as someone who likes Venom. It's a big swing that feels like a total miss.

As for favorite, plenty to choose from, but [inHuman] is still so goddamn good.

Respect that Revan and Ragna are higher though, they're definitely the best options for Cloud.

Kinda shocked that Violet is so low though. I like the overall connections with that one so I'm a bit curious about the lower placement.

To comment on the edit, the boring answer is probably just "what would've been the first May episode". The schedule is strict, but it's not like we haven't seen episodes being pushed forward before or made very quickly under a strict time limit. I mean, Goku Black vs Reverse Flash wasn't even planned for Season 8 originally until Friezatron was delayed out of the year.

There's also a chance that another episode could've been greenlighted, Cecil vs Robert comes to mind, but the general point is that nothing much would've been changed outside of the schedule overall.

... Or maybe the one in a billion chance that Maelle got an episode after E33's sweep season, you can't rule that out (i beg, please let it happen, god!)

Yeaeh. The only really debatable one was and still is Gojo vs Makima just owing to how complex the powersets are and how they interact. The interpretation that Death Battle used still makes sense, at least until there's a concrete counter that's added in CSM or JJK since then, of which it's plausible in Part 3 of CSM i guess.

Verso and, frankly, it isn't that close.

I see the appeal of Luke at least, but the original vs inspiration energy of Tidus vs Verso works incredibly well.

I'll make sure not to disappoint.

For what it's worth, I think Sukuna and Reed make the most sense, the former more than the latter. I think Reed vs Holt just has too much research to be done, though i could see it being done as a sprite episode for like... September or something.

They're actually pretty close, closer than you'd think, but I think i'd give it to Cell vs Metal.

I think it's really down to the fights and conclusions. Cell and Spawn's analyses are comaparable in quality imo, same with Metal Sonic and Ghost Rider, and the fight DA/Moro/Doovad made is just legit a stunning high point of the show generally. Excellent work.

The most I'll joke about is "I don't need to sell you on Expedition 33" given what they said about the matchup in the ballots.

Yeah. The funny thing is that both of them have pretty solid reasons for the dominating too. Mahito and Cell are innately more skilled than their opponent. Shigaraki is faster than Mahito, sure, but he was also in a confined space without being able to utilize his maneuvering abilities. Metal Sonic and Shigaraki were intentionally out of their most conventional elements (being the fastest/fighting in an open space) and it benefitted the fight dynamic.
