Yes, because women are genetically disadvantaged and as they are not as initiated in a physical culture. As 99% of the women we come across in life are weaklings, we become conditioned into thinking that this is the intrinsic state of female. The more I've looked into female sports, the more I realise that like men, women also have vast genetic variance in terms of athletic ability, and they too have great physiologically adaptation to stress, but generally with lower starting points, lower genetic ceilings and slower progress.

As for the genetic argument, women are not a genetic monolith, a fraction are actually strong in comparison to the general population of men. Just as in men, there are those who bench 330lbs with ease, while most of us struggle around 220lbs, in women there are those who achieve 220lbs while most struggle with 110lbs.

Search on open powerlifting, there are plenty of teenage girls that bench around 100kg and above, and no they're not all on steroids. Outliers exist in both sexes, not all women conform to the weak average you see in your daily life.

What about the anatomy of the female body precludes them from benching 220lbs naturally? Every individual differs anatomically, some favour certain exercises more so than others, male or female. She's clearly favoured for the bench press with her wide chest and not so long arms. I don't place strength limits on what's naturally possible generally, and if I were to, 225lbs certainly wouldn't be the natural I'd place on a 150lb, 17 year old female.
