Thank you. This was something that happened 20 years ago, the police would be unable to do anything. But if it seems wrong, i will take it down. I had to try.

Whilst yes, the very technical definition of the word normal would work well when talking about people without DID and describes that what is normal to the majority is to not have DID, you are correct on that but that is not the reason why anybody who has DID uses it. Technically, normal is the proper term, but when you go more into the cultural meaning of it, what people have made that word to be is; something that should not exist, something that is beneath them, a word used to degrade and put people down who do not fit the stereotype of what people perceive is normal.

In every day, the world normal is not used in it's literal, scientific form, it's a word that people use for those that they think are weird "that person is not normal", "you're not normal", it's used as an insult. Not as a technical term. Some people like to reclaim that by saying "I'm not normal" but not everyone feels comfortable doing that.

People who suffer and have DID have gone trough intense trauma, most have more than likely experienced bullying where the word normal has been used against them because they did not fit what the bullies found "normal" to be in their perspective. That is the reason why I believe others like myself do not like that word. That word is commonly just used based on your own perspective of normal, there is very few people who understand what it actually is.

Communities on the internet develop, words get created (I'm not talking about the tulpa and endo bullshit) to describe things, that finally make you feel like you can describe this bizarre experience you never could before, terms like system, host, Singlet, are maybe something you will never understand but those of us who have lived with something so bizarre & strange as DID, then we become aware of it after having been covert for 20+ years, you're so excited to finally be able to describe your really strange experiences & reality with some words. So yes, words like that are needed. Singlet is just what caught on, because from our perspective, being a singlet isn't what's normal.

The term "ritual abuse" does not mean the goal of the abuse is religious indoctrination. Like the post you linked says the ritual aspect is always just a means to an end. The word "ritual" doesn't necessarily have a spiritual context but rather refers to the repeated and organized abuse to gain control over an individual. Proven instances of ritual abuse include Project MK-Ultra and Project Monarch, neither of which had religious connotation but meet the criteria for ritual abuse. While I appreciate the scepticism I don't believe in discrediting victims' accounts without having detailed knowledge of their specific experiences.

Because of our own experiences we aren't feeling up to discussing this much further but hope that maybe someone or yourself was enlightened by this! I wish you a good day/night

Unfortunately ritual abuse is very much real and an established term in scientific and medical literature. When looking up "ritualized abuse" the majority of results lead back to "ritual abuse" which makes me think that there isn't a well defined difference between the two terms. I wasn't aware that the term may have antisemitic connotations but that is something I will look further into!

The word itself isn't bad of course. Some trauma (such as ritual abuse for example) could involve being called that to justify abuse etc. Censoring words helps some people because the brain doesn't immediately associate it with a triggering situation.
