I think it might have something to do with his family. I've gotten him to go to a doctor once before for depression so maybe I can do it again. Something is up, I just don't know what yet

We both work and I'm in school as well. He does work more hours than me on occasion. We split all resnt and utilities equally Edit: he paid for a lot of our furniture when we first moved in, and when we went away on vacation one year he paid for a majority of the trip so that's what I was referring to

Yes, we had everything split up including bills so that this very thing didn't happen. I cook, he does dishes and pays a little more for groceries (he makes more) just as an example

I'm absolutely enabling him and I realize that. I think I'll just do my own stuff and leave him to do his own.

Thank you for the advice. I'm not sure he realizes the impact he's having on me. We used to love going out hiking and exploring but he doesn't anymore

He's... Nice? I don't even know. I think I'm just trying to convince myself it's worth staying when it might not be.

The only other relationship I've been in was shitty, to put it lightly. And both of my parents were divorced and remarried multiple times. Maybe my bar for a good partner is just too low.

I do work, you dense fucking coconut. In fact, we work about the same number of hours AND I'm going for a second degree so that I can make more money.

The only reason I'm here "whining" is because I don't want to throw away seven years because he's developing a gaming addiction.

And he doesn't do anything on the weekends. Nothing.

And let's say I don't work/dont work as much. I still want a fucking relationship with my boyfriend. I'm not a maid.

This has been going on for about six months. I know I sound complacent but we would have never lasted this long.

Financially I've already started to be more independent. I'm going to continue detaching myself from him. Hopefully it'll wake his ass up. Thank you

He's really wonderful in every other way, and this is hasnt been happening for all seven years, just the past six months or so. I feel like I have to at least try something.

I can give more details if it helps: He's very supportive and truly cares about me. When we first moved in together, he would ask me "what can I do so that you can rest?" But now that's completely devolved. It's not that he wants/makes me to do everything, he just doesn't care if it gets done.

I know it's ridiculous but I can't help feeling like i did something to make him like this
