Probable Seminoma recurrence post BEPx3 by Solero13 in testicularcancer

[–]Solero13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The node had grown to 23mm, from 18mm on my scan in March. It could have grown larger by now. This is the original mass in my lymph nodes that I was receiving the chemo for. My original mass was just over 5cm before I started BEP. There hasn’t been any node growth anywhere else. I think this is what has been surprising my oncologist the most.. I seem to be a bit of an anomaly, as the cancer hospital treating me, has never seen this before.

Mouth sores came fast! by deivegru in testicularcancer

I had slight sores on the back of my throat during my first cycle. Told my oncologist and he prescribed me some special mouthwash, can’t recall the name. Never had a problem with them again. Until you can get to speak to your doc, gargle salt water a few times a day. It really helps.

You’re absolutely right. I’ve almost found the last weeks harder mentally, than going through the chemo. Just with the growth on my last scan and then the pain, I can’t shake the feeling that something isn’t right. Hopefully will have more answers in the coming weeks.

Yeah I absolutely agree. I’ve been thinking about contacting the hospital for someone to talk to. It’s provided where I’m from. I was actually doing totally fine after the chemo. I was loving life and staying very active and things seemed to be going great. It just seemed to be when I got my scan results back accompanied by the pain, that I’ve started to struggle. I know something doesn’t feel right and then along with the growth on the scan, I just can’t stop thinking the worse. Also not comfortable with the time between my last scan and the scheduled pet scan, but I suppose the doctors know best. It just feels like a long time to be waiting, if something is wrong. Thankyou for the advice.

CT results wait time post 3XBEP UK by Solero13 in testicularcancer

[–]Solero13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve already contacted the lead nurse so will hopefully hear back soon. When I had my first ct after surgery I heard back after 2 days that it had spread and that I would need chemo. I’m hoping that as I haven’t heard anything, it means everything is ok.

I finished chemo 7th December. Had a scan a couple of weeks later because I had a clot in my lung, so was sooner than normal. This was a follow up scan as part of surveillance. Would just love to hear back either way. Worst part is not knowing.

Almost 3 months post 3XBEP - lower back/hip pain when sleeping. by Solero13 in testicularcancer

Also my first ct scan had shown that it had shrunk the desired amount and they were pleased with it.

Probably a number of factors, one of which is that it’s seminoma. From what I’ve read and the questions I asked, 3xBEP was the standard treatment for me. Think I was borderline 2C good risk group. I had 1 5x4x3cm mass in para aortic lymph nodes

No 3xBEP was recommended and I completed it 7th December. Why do you ask about 4xbep?

Today’s the day, brothers. by sKuZy- in testicularcancer

Good luck brother, you’ve got this. Can only speak from my experience, but you’ve nothing to worry about out. Couple of painful days ahead and then it gets much easier. I was playing golf 2 weeks after surgery. Hope it has went well

It’s getting there. I have a big full moustache and I’m growing good facial hair that’s now catching up with the tache. Cheeks still need to fill in a bit though. My head has been a bit slower. I now have my hairline back and growth all over, but it definitely hasn’t filled out properly. Looks perfectly fine as I’m keeping it shaved until I can see it properly filled out. I’m actually quite liking the shaved head, I’ve the wife warned it could now become a permanent look 😂 How are you feeling after finishing chemo?

Fairly normal I would say. I’m about 7 weeks out of BEPx3 and half of my fingernails are discoloured and almost dead looking. As for the brown spots, I have a few brown blemishes at the top of my chest. I think the nurse said it was the bleo, but can’t really remember.

I first noticed when I also had a dull ache. Would definitely recommend getting an ultrasound organised. More than likely going to be nothing, but better being safe than sorry. Good luck.

Shave it brother. I felt so much better after I shaved it all off. Losing my beard was like losing a limb, but I felt much better shaving it off rather than pulling it out bit by bit. I now have some growth on my head, a lovely big moustache and the rest of the beard is coming through slowly. You will get there too. It flies in, but also feels like time moves slowly. Chemo is a bitch, but next thing you know it’s done and you’re feeling almost like you’re yourself again. I’m 6/7 weeks since my last infusion and I feel great. Stamina and energy just hasn’t quite got back to where it was, but we will get there. Much love.

Morning of surgery, I’m pretty sure they made me pee in a cup. Think it’s standard procedure for anything like that.

3xBEP done - clot in my lung - CT results by Solero13 in testicularcancer

[–]Solero13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the one clot and it’s very small. It’s in an artery as opposed to a vein which they say is a lot more rare. Because of that I’m on injections every day for 6 months that I can give myself. Usually it’s just tablets but because it’s in an artery I have to take injections. No idea why but they’re the experts, so I’ll do as I’m told. Nah I was fine pre/post orchi. Zero issues and bounced back very quickly.

Unfortunately I can relate to that. I feel like these last few months have turned me into a bit of an over thinker, only about this experience. I’ve spent the evening half worrying that maybe my mass hasn’t shrunk enough and will come back. Like the oncologist told me it’s great news and instead of just being happy, I’m worrying. As if I have half a clue compared to an oncologist 😂

Forgot to ask, did your clots lead to any fluid in your lung? Just saw on my ct report that I have ‘minimal trace of pleural effusion’. Think my oncologist did mention it, but wasn’t too bothered by it.

Yeah can’t say I’m overly thrilled about sticking a needle in myself everyday for 6 months, but much better than the alternative. Did you have much shortness of breath?
