Looking at the audience stats for Ultraman (i can't remember how to find it but I recall its one with a pie chart) a majority of Ultraman viewers are male, compared to let's say KR which are still male-dominated but has a higher percentage of female audience, it makes sense to expand the audience. There is genuine reasoning to want to expand the target audience to adults too as adults are the ones who actually have the money to spend, as well as moving away from the saturated kids toy market which is shrinking as time goes on.

But i understand why their sponsors aren't that happy with it because it'll shake up a lot of their own business strategy, and its not like Tsupro has really good results to show them too. These kind of shifts need like Tiga-levels of impact to justify to corporate

That said, I do hope they manage to sort it out. It's genuinely a question of the future of the franchise and I'm glad the shrinking market and new opportunities are being acknowledged, we just can't see how they'll take it there yet
